Topic: RE: Getting concerned
Hi Marti, I can relate. I had my one year post op last Friday and told the doctor my concern about being able to eat so much. He said we have to work on our brains now. That is common to be able to eat more at one year out. He also told me sometimes food can get into the old stomach and that is why we can eat more. I am very concerned about this as the hospital where I had my surgery no longer does the surgeries and if there are any problems I will have to go elsewhere. I hope this isn't the case. You have done well, congradulations. Deb Ski
Topic: Getting concerned
What is going on!!! My one year anniversary is the 13th and I am getting hungry. I can eat more--not platefuls--but it isn't the good food I'm worried about!!! I'm craving carbs and could careless about protein. My old habits are coming back to visit.
For the first 11 months I never craved any food----WHY NOW!!
So I guess it is back to DIETING and EXERCISING.
I've had my head in the sand and I've been enjoying the ride thus far. I've not started exercising because weighing less than 160 pounds wasn't my game plan. Now I can see I can't pretend to be different any more. Health is always the key and the LORD knows I'm very knowledgable and good at dieting and exercise.
Sounds like I'm ungrateful--I'm not, just in shock.
I don't want to crave carbs so I need to stay away from them!!! Thank heavens I can't eat more than just a bit.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Can anyone relate?
Marti L

Congrats Lori. It's been quite a year for both of us. I am down to 215 (from 340) from a year ago. Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary. It's amazing how much life has changed since then.
I also too have not tried one oz of refined sugar. Fear is a powerful tool and to be honest, I don't even crave it now. ;)
Maybe I'll see you at a support group. (if work ever let's me off again)
Congrats again.
