The best gift I had recieved from this surgery is that I had to get new pictures IDs, wooohooo!(self-esteem booster) That's something to be glad about, just want to share itand I don't miss the junk food I used to crave day and night. Celines 286 Lbs. on 1/20/2004 144.5 Lbs. on 1/20/2005

Ronda it is perfectly normal don't worry you will start loosing again pretty soon. I am one year post-op and had the same weight for 3 or 4 months(144.5 Lbs.) and it is now that I started to loose again, went down 4 pounds and I'm now on 140.5 so I think I will still loose a couple more, who knows. Keep up the good work and good luck to you. Celines

Topic: need advice from 1 yr post-ops
I had my surgery in April of 2004 but I'm struggling with something and wanted to ask you guys who have been out for 1 yr already for advice. A lot of us on the April board are hitting plateaus BIG TIME! We are frustrated. Did you have trouble right around the 9-10 month mark? If so, did your weight loss kick back in or are we pretty much done? I work out 4 days a week, try to eat right - lots of protein, water, etc. I've lost 100 lbs and I'm thrilled with it but I'd like to lose about 30 more if possible. Thanks for any help you can give! I wish that I was down to 127lbs .... I can't even remember when I was that weight .... maybe in 3rd grade ... I have about 70-90 lbs to go ... somehow I don't think I am going to get there. As for pasta .... nope. Goes down and then right back up again. On the other hand, I am also trying to stay away from all the bad things -- I figure that I didn't go through all this to fall back into the old eating habits and undue everything that I have fought so hard for. And pasta was always one of my weaknesses. Of course, my body seems to be solving that particular craving for me. Good luck! Sounds to me like you are doing great!!!! Lida Open RNY 331/227/?????

Topic: RE: Kidney stones, kidney stones, and MORE kidney stones!!!
Hey Michael, Remember Me? Just a note to tell you I know exactly what you are going thru. I had an appointment with my Urologist today. I have successfully passed all the stones after they did the Lithotripsy to break up the 10MM stone I had in my left Kidney. But last night I started having really bad pains in my back on the right side. Doc told me today it was just ghost pain from the left side. Said nothing showed up in the CAT Scan in December and it was too soon for anything else to form.... BUT he read my X-Ray... only to find I am not the norm... I am now passing stones from the right Kidney. He said I know how to do things right... They are analizing the stones I passed so maybe we can eliminate the problem in the future. This is a real pain(literally) but all in all.... I wouldn't go back... I am down 146 lbs. BMI is now 29.7 so I am only considered OVERWEIGHT..... AIN'T Life Grand??? Give me a call sometime. And next time you come thru Vegas..... we will definately get together again... Take care, Your WLS Partner, Same Day, Same Time.... in it together.. Debbie 146 lbs gone forever.... 329/183/140

I thought dense protein was any protein you got from real food. Not the kind from drinks and bars. Dawn -119

When you are maintaining and training heavily you should expect to be up and down no more than 5 lbs. But WOW you are doing great. I wish you the best of luck on your Marathon. Right now I eat very little pasta - I find it too heavy. My carbs I usually just try to stay away - I don't really count. My pouch can hold a meal of 5 oz. max. However, I do eat 5 times per day (3 meals and 2 snacks). Dawn -119

I have never heard of a "dense" protein. What is it?
