Hi, Dawn: I have always read your postings and have admired your before and after pictures! I, too, had surgery Jan 2004, the 29th. I am also at 119 loss and in a 16 pants with loose skin!!! But I have gone through taking support group members through the belt lipectomy and other skin removal processes and for me, it is not even an option! If we buy the right kind of clothing style, it seems for the most part, it is well hidden. I am 61 and don't want any more surgery. No doubt you are much younger, so don't let me discourage you if that is what you want. Your face looks wonderful! Now, I would like a face lift, instead of the loose body skin removed, as I have this horrible turkey thing hanging under my chin! So, that just goes to show, we each have our own preferences! The main thing is how far we have come in the past 14 months....keep the faith and remember how great you look! Best regards, Midge Ruhl 304/185

I sooo understand!!! I live in Vegas and so the winter hasnt been as much an issue for me..but we have had so much rain...UGH! But man..this last few pounds are bound and determined to hang on to my tummy.
I am also in a 14-16 jeans and would easily fit into a 12 if not for that oh so lovely apron...geesh how ugly is that! I was so discouraged last week when I went in search of a swimming suit. Trust me if you think that apron looks icky covered by denim...trust me spandex is just downright GROSS!
Between the pleats under my butt and my apron in front, it seems hopeless to find anything that I can appear in public in. I just joined 24Fitness and want to be able to do the water aerobics, but til I find something to cover my excess skin, I cant.
This week, I am going to try more stores in search of a spandex cover for my saggy baggy body. Who would have thought that I looked better in a bathing suit as a obese person than now that I have almost hit goal...Still, feeling great and having energy and health again far outweigh any disgruntled feelings about all this excess skin.
Ill get off my soapbox now..and go shopping. By the way, you look great!! and congrats on how well you are doing!!
Hugs,
Harriet

Hey Dawn,
I can't relate to the weather as I live in Arizona and the past few days have been beautiful.
I am battling to lose the last 5 lbs to meet my goal. Like you, I feel if I could get ps I would easily take it off. My insurance doesn't cover squat so I've decided to get my arms done by self pay. I am scheduled for April to have it done. If only there were 5 lbs. there! LOL! My tummy surely would be 5 lbs. and let's not even talk about my thighs...gag!
Hang in there, we'll get there, slowly, but surely!

I am actually feeling great with melting away a total of 119 pounds. It is the winter that is killing me - just stuck in a rut. I am definately craving outside activities... Walking, biking, just playing with the kids. I also feel this is why I have hit a damn plateau again.... either that or have I touched the stages of maintenance? I feel I have 20-25 pounds more to go until goal.
Skin is another subject. Sure I am in a size 16 jeans, could be a 14 or 12 without an apron hanging down. Even the shirts are now XL - arms a little tight due to the bat wings. But we will have to see how the spring & summer do for my meltin to goal.
I hope everyone is happy & healthy - I am !! Just needed to vent a little to people that really understand.
Have a nice day.
Dawn

Hey Jen! How are you? YOU look gorgeous!
Well, when I called the surgeons office the girl there told me that it would cost me $4700.00, PERIOD. So, I thought this was a screaming deal and went in for my consultation. Afterwards the surgeons nurse comes in and tells me it will be $5,000.00 for the arms and $250.00 for the operating room. $5250.00! I was pissed and told her that I was quoted $4700.00, she said NO ONE should have given me a price over the phone when the surgeon hadn't even seen me yet. Blah blah blah. Needless to say, I am going ahead with it, because my arms look like poop! I figured this would be the least expensive of all the surgeries and darn it, I was going to have something fixed! I also inquired about lipo for around my knees. I literally have these protrusions of fat on the inside of my knees. He is supposedly cutting me a deal if I do it the same day as my arms. $750.00 to lipo these babies. The nurse told me if I had done it separately the would have charged me $2250.00!!! I have to think if I can cough up another $750.00.
So how have you been? You need to keep in touch, you look fantastic!

You look wonderful! Wowee! I bet you look ten times better with the additional skin gone. I am soooooooo envious! I have to settle for this one surgery unfortunately, but with any luck I hope to manage one or two more further down the road. My insurance company will pay for NOTHING! Grrrrrrr!! You have come a long way and look great! Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your surgeries. I love to hear about them!

(((((HUGS)))))))
I have it and I too feel through out this journey I was a slow loser but I am now at 157 and I have not moved at all,I need to step up the excersise as well but Iwanted to add I was also on glucophage etc before WLS and after I am not on anything, my periods have been normal since the day of surgery, that is a first in my life. I do however still have that dam hair growth under my chin but I was told that will never go away because once it gets to that black corse stage it needs to be taken off with a laser which is bog money. I have some blood work coming up soon to see where my testostirone levels are but I know losing over 115 lbs helped tremendously.
do you see any improvement in your sx's?
