Challenge accepted! I am still 20#'s away from goal weight. I'm working out like crazy at the gym and thanks to the exercise have lowered my blood pressure to 120/70 (usually 140/90)!! Now if only I could lower the weight! Thanks for posting, Pat. I agree...we need more traffic on this board. Keep up the great work, everyone!! All the best, Jenn

I take the Challenge and will update you!!!!!! I had a FTT/MR and Hernia on 3/30/05 and I have to say I was so surprised at how well it all went and I am sure to be pleased once this dam swelling goes down!!!!! Lets see I started out before surgery at 272 and I am now 155, They say by BMI standards I am still overweight, I say I feel better now than I did when I was 116 and 16 yrs old so there I can definatly eat more but have not gone beyond what I know is bad, will never go that route again and I need to step up the excersise. Ok whats else is new Jan peps

Have you looked into those swim suits that you can buy as 2 pieces in separate sizes and then will a little skirt/scarf type thing that is also separate? I bet that would help a lot with the skin issue.

Hi Sandra, First off stop beating yourself up! That will do you no good! Your in a little slump that I think most of us have gone through. You have been through some major changes in the last year and it takes its toll on your mind and body. The problem with sugar is once you have it your body craves it. It wants more. So the more you eat it the more your body will crave it and your in that horrible cycle. My good friend actually went to a support group and found a great doctor who ended up putting her on Welbutrin (spelling) she's not depressed, but she had been eating for no reason. She was eating when she wasn't hungry. How her doctor put it was the surgery is a tool to help lose weight right, well the meds are also a tool to help you get control of your mind. Since she has been going to the support group, seeing the doctor and taking the meds she has lost seven more pounds and is making better choices! Her favorite part is she is now able to fight the head hunger and the sweets! I am so proud of her. When I read your post I thought of her, because you two seem like you have a lot of the same issues! It might be a good idea for you to get some extra help to figure out why your eating the way you are. Know that its okay too! Sandra look at how awesome you look! Look at how far you have come! You've done a great job! Keep it up and don't let this bring you down. Find the reason why. It very well could be you are an emotional eater and if that's the case get help so that you can work through it. You can do it Sandra you've come this far! Just look down and see how great you look! For me, I keep a pair of fat pants in my closet so that I never ever forget where I was! That seems to really help! Good luck to you and let us know how your doing! And please don't beat yourself up. Kasey

((((((Sandra)))))) I cant imagen anyone being rude but if so then they should just keep the saying if you cant be nice blah blah, ya know, My take on this is that you know what you are doing and when you are doing it right? so why not go back to the nutrionist and get some feed back, how about support groups? Its not an easy thing. I personally have never tried chocolate again, I think I would be sick because I have tried things that are "sugar free" like ice cream and I dump terrible so thats out. I do eat carbs but not alot, like pretzels etc but I also love nuts, planters mixed deluxe, try that instead of what you may be doing. also there is south beach to help you for awhile, excersing to get your mind clear, You went through sooooooo much to get here, dont let it back in, I am always here if you need an email or a boost of encouragement, its true we can go back but by the grace of God we dont have to and once you make that commitment you can and will strive to be all you can be and not let the demons win, AMEN?!!!! YES AMEN!!!!!

Ok first off dont beat yourself up over this. We all have the same problems or we wouldnt have been overweight in the first place. I am one of the lucky ones I guess I can eat sugar and not get sick{i think of this is bad not lucky} however I have learned not too pu****Its willpower and friends that will get you through it. Also a little every now and then wont kill you just change what your eating. They make some good low sugar chocolates now. I buy the reese cups things that are good minutures is all i buy too and the hershey sugar free minatures are good too. Endulge on a little bar thats sugar free ...it does help and dont leave em in sight every day too...Put them in a place in your pantry you wont see everyday only when your craving it bad and you remember you have em. I keep alot of fruit around for when im craving sweets too..I eat the fruit first or some peanut butter or something and then if it doesnt work i find the chocolate. Usually after i have had snacks of all sorts i forgot bout the chocolate and im full...Keep up the good work and remember faith and your support system online thats what we are here for.Email me anytime if you need too Sherry Neiger 323/150/169

At 14 months out most of my meals consist of 4-5 oz of protein. I seldom get to the veggie part of my meal. My surgeon said to eat meat, then veggies, then carbs. I have three meals and 2 snacks a day. My snacks consist of 10 almonds, or 5 pork rinds or 1 sf popcicle. Calories run between 650-800 calories a day. I'd still like to lose another 25 lbs before having plastic surgery.
