Topic: RE: What is your new goal!
Well, Nancy where do I begin...LOL First, I am still trying to reach my #1 goal and that is to reach 170 pounds. I am so stuck at my current weight and have been for about 5-6 months. So, if I don't reach that goal, my next goal would be just to work very hard to maintain (sp) my current weight. I sometimes fall off track, but I always seem to manage to get back up. Don't laugh, but another goal of mine is to learn how to ice skate. he,he I am so afraid of falling though. Mellisia

Topic: What is your new goal!
I know that most everyone is at goal. My goal now is to try and eat healthy so that I do not go back to where I was when I started. I know that it is a hard thing to do........ being someone that loved to eat everything and anything. I look at what I buy and ask myself why I am buying it. Is it protein or something that I can do without! What are some of your new goals since you had the surgery?

Thank you all so much for your replies. I am feeling a little better. I am not a real big sweets eater, but thats what I pigged out on all weekend. I bought a Cheesecake Torte cake and ate two pieces, I had a Sundae Nut Cone, a Cream Horn and some candy. I just don't understand what came over me. I felt so out of control. I am getting back in the swing of things though. Protein, water and exercize. I knew I could count on my friends on this board to help me up. Michael, you look really great!! Mellisia 342/209/170

Topic: RE: How much food are you eating?
OK, here it goes... I have lost 215 pounds so far - well past my goal. My daily calorie intake is between 1200 and 1500 calories per day, but everyone is different and your body will tell you what is right for you. I eat a fairly simple plan of eating daily - I have an Achiev One Protein Latte in the morning at around 7AM, then at 8:30 I have a Power Crunch Bar. Then, at 9AM I have a bottle of Fruit2O Water. Around 10:30 or 11 I have a small single-serving bag of Snak King Tobasco Pork Rinds. For lunch, around noon, I have a Michelina's Lean Gourmet Low Carb Frozen Meal (these are always just meat and veggie). Then, around 2 I have 3 small sugar-free Murray's Ginger Snaps. Then, 1 vile of Profect Liquid Protein (25 grams in just 2.7 ounces of liquid - and it tastes great!). More water. Then, around 3:30 or 4 I have a Yoplait Carb Monitor Yogurt. I leave work, and I get home, and around 6PM I have dinner, usually a 3-4 ounce piece of lean meat/chicken/fish, and some veggies, or for a treat, 1 all-beef hotdog in a light low-carb bun with sugar-free ketchup, and 1 ounce of sweet-potato fries, or maybe 1 cup of Dreamfields Low-Carb Pasta with 1TBSP butter and sprinkled parmesan cheese, or stuff like that. Then finally, for dessert, around 8 or 9PM, I have 1 cup of fresh strawberries topped with sugar-free fat-free cool whip. Often, to fight the tartness, I will toss the strawberries (after being cut-up) in a sprinkling of Splenda and let them sit a bit before topping with the cool whip. And, with this kind of eating pattern, AND by using www.fitday.com for tracking my calories and nutrients, I manage to keep my calories always between 1200-1500, my protein is ALWAYS over 100, and my carbs are around 35, and my fat around 30 - and this is a very balanced way to eat (and as you can see, I eat ALL day) - and I never go hungry, and I still lose. Sorry for the mouthful - but I just thought I would share what works for me. But the key here is that DIFFERENT things work for DIFFERENT people - just listen to your body! God bless, Michael 215 Pounds Gone Forever!

Hey Mellisa - I'm sorry that you had a bad weekend. BUT - we ALL go through this now and then, you are not alone. And, I know how terrible you can feel afterwards; the guilt, the "why did I do this" syndrome, and beating yourself up. If anyone tells you that at our stage they have NEVER done this, I promise you they are fooling themselves. It's just human nature to go off the straight and narrow path every so often. What we need to do is get back up, wipe the dust from our pants, and say to ourselves "OK, I am human, I made some poor choices, but now I am back in control". And then we go on, and we look to the positive side of things and continue in our journey. Might I ask, what exactly did you eat? I will bet you that it's nowhere near as bad as we USED to eat before our surgeries. Just be comforted in knowing that you can always turn that corner and get right back in the saddle - it's never too late. God bless, Michael 215 Pounds Gone Forever!

OMG girl you are not the only one! If someone said that they did not eat bad things for them, I would not believe it for a minute. There is one in a few that stick totally to the plan. Just do your best is all you can do hun! Remember just to go back and do what you need to do......... We all go back to them bad habits but we can not knock ourselves for it or we want to go back to that comfort zone more. Tommrow is a new day.......... One day at a time hun! You are doing great
