Topic: RE: Just really need some support!
Hi Kristal
I'm sorry you are having a stressful time right now, however you are 88 pounds healthier than you were before your surgery. Did you take your measurements before your surgery, if not, do it now and then every couple of weeks remeasure, it is an uplifter!! You may not feel thinner, but the measuring tape don't lie!!!
Did you have a piture taken of yourself before your surgery? If not, have one taken now so that you can see in a few weeks or months the difference those pounds lost make!!
I am sure that with 88 pounds gone, you have alot of inches gone too.
Try keeping a positive attitude and do things that will take your mind off your body. Rejoice in the pounds that are gone, and the rest will come in time. Rejoice in what you can do now that you couldn't a few months ago!!
I wish you much happiness.
My surgery was 1-5-04, I'm done 90 pounds and 99 inches, happier and healthier than I have been in twenty years.
Keep up the great job!!
Topic: Happier
I just wanted to share with everyone of how much happier and healthier I am with having the WLS! I was so unhappy before! I didn't like the way I looked or felt and I had no energy. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about having it to go ahead and do so! It's so worth it. To think I'm off my cholestrol medicine and am no longer a dieabetic!
It's amazing how the surgery works! This has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! I know that my life ahead of me is going to be wonderful! I look pretty good now, just think how I'll look when I get to my goal weight of 135!
Best of luck to those who have had the surgery and to those thinking about it or are scheduled to have it!!

Topic: RE: Lunch Ideas?
Gloria, I try to have a variety, so I don't get bored. I mix tuna with cottage cheese or ham with cottage cheese. I have even mixed bacon bits with cottage cheese (I use low fat cottage cheese). You could try a scrambled egg with cheese or cheese and bacon or ham. When scrambling I whip with skim milk instead of water. Water actually makes them flufflier, but I use the milk for the added protien. Hope these suggestions help!

Topic: RE: I FINALLY HIT 50!!!!
Congratulations Barbie. I know how happy I was when I hit the 50 lb. mark. Keep up the good work! I had my surgery the same day and weighed myself this morning and have lost 55.5 lbs since, plus the 12 lbs before my surgery. I have 45.5 lbs. to go to get to my goal weight. Hope I can get there by the middle of July.
