Congrats to Kay and everyone for the great losses! This Board really helps me stay motivated to do the exercise! My surgery was 1/21/04 and I am down 63lbs. I am so-o-o-o-o-o pleased! I feel great... my clothes are starting to really swing off me...I am down between 3-4 sizes... Life is good! Good luck and continued success to all! V.

Topic: I am sorry, I am starting to worry
I know I have been here already but please enlighten me. I just feel like I can eat way to much and I think something may be wrong? I have stayed still on weight loss for 2 weeks now and I think its because I am able to eat more. I am so scared I am going to stay in the 200's forever and that I did this surgery to only lose 60 pnds I prais God for this loss but why do I have this awful feeling I am done losing.

Congratulations on your success Kimberly. I am sorry to hear about the lack of support from your family. I have a similar problem with my sister. My mother is very supportive though. Keep your goals and hapiness in mind and don't worry about what others think. You are doing great!!!!!

Topic: RE: Lunch Ideas?
I have been making quesadillas for lunch for me and my husband. I use a whole wheat tortilla, spoon on a little Chi Chi sausa(mild), use the canned chicken breast (drained, about 1 oz. I have problems with chicken at times but have never had any problem with the canned chicken, is very soft) and sprinkle about an ounce of cheese (usually mozzarella) on it, fold it in half and grill in the skillet until the cheese melts and is lightly browned on outside. Tastes great and very filling. My husband loves them. The quesadilla from Taco Bell are okay, this is better and made the way I like it. At other times I eat about 3/4 cup of l/f cottage cheese only. At other times I eat half of a turkey bacon wrap from Subway, very tasty too. I try to eat a variety of things to keep from getting bored with the same stuff all the time. I also at times will get a baked potato from Wendy's and have low fat sour cream with it. Just a few suggestions. Good luck finding something good for lunch!!!

You are doing the best thing for you and maybe they are jealous. You are breaking the family tradition of being overweight and diabetic. You have made a healthy decission and you should be proud of yourself. Keep up the good work and they will come around eventually. Stay away if you have to just to keep your spirits up. Or use the anger they create to keep up your inspirations of diet and excercise. It must be tough but turn to those who can help you thru. Best of wishes. Dawn -69

Topic: I'm fed up!
I'm really fed up with my family! I have gotten no support from my mom or 3 of my 4 sisters! Not once has my mom or 2 of my 4 sisters said "you look nice" or "good job" or "how much weight have you lost". I get remarks like, "I like the way I look!" "If god wanted everybody to be thin, then I'd be thin." Two of my sisters are diabetics, one is on insulin and the other on oral medicine (she's also on liptor) and yes they are both over weight! I'm really upset with them! I just don't get it! Why can't they be happy for me? I finally told them today at lunch time "that I was not happy with the way I looked and I didn't have the surgery so I could wear a size 8, but that I did it for my health and now I'm off my liptor and not a diabetic! And I know that some people think I should not have had it done, but I didn't care, it was my decision!" My dad died from complications from Diabeties (he had heart problems, was on dialysis, and lost his eye sight and both legs) and my mom is a diabetic and has lost one leg & part of her other foot! I don't want to end up like them! Is anyone else having this problem with family members? If so, how are you handling it? Kimberley 248/236/177

Keep up the good work, Kay! Way to go! I had surgery on 1/21/04 and have lost a total of 71 pounds (12 before & 59 since). I have 42 more pounds to go to get to my goal! Kimberley 248/236/177
