Just remember that the important thing is you recognize what's going on and are proactive about it. I have to do that occasionally (I think we all do.) With me it's more about excercise, but I'm getting back on track about that too. We're still learning. Every day is a new and exciting one and a chance to start over again. You've made it this far and are doing great. Be proud of your accomplishments. Many hugs... Fanny

I log everything I eat on Fit Day to help me keep a balance and make sure I eat all my protein. Personally I had bad eating habits before surgery and I don't plan to let them creep back in one carb at a time. Last month I averaged 611 calories, 53 gms of protein. My goal this month is to go over 60 grms of protein and drop the carbs from 30 grams to 20 grams a day. Something has to speed up the weight loss. Best of luck to you!

We didn't have brain surgery, only wls. Give yourself a break for slipping up one day. Think about all the days you did well. Then get back to low carbs (below 20 grms) for a few days so the hunger will disappear. I am assuming you ate a lot of carbs because it would be hard to eat that much protein. Load up on water between your meals You've done well so far, and I know you can get back on track today. Best of luck!

I am feeling greatful that I was blessed with this surgery. I've lost 62 lbs since surgery 1/20/04, add on the pre-op loss for a total of 120 lbs. My blessings include not having any complications since surgery, being able to eat anything I want except grits and possibly sugar (haven't tried it). I've gone from 5 prescription pills a day to 1 a day. I could hardly stand when I started this journey, now I work out 30-40 min 5 days a week at the gym. Last month I averaged 611 calories a day. No shakes or bars, all food. Still working on reaching 60 grams of protein a day but I am close now. Can you believe we use to obsess about eating too much, now we have to try to get in ENOUGH food/protein. Life is grand post-op. I feel like I have my life back. I no longer exist, I can now live life again. Watch out world when I finish losing my weight. Sounds like we are all doing well. Best wishes to all of you for your continued success.

Hey, fellow Hoosier!! I had blood work drawn and we went over my food chart, and checked my incision, etc. About a week later, I went through my blood work results...I was low on iron. Other than that, we just talked about the surgery, how was I fairing, etc. Good luck and congratulations on such an awesome weight loss. My doctor was Dr. Nigh - he is at Community North now and I absolutely love him!! Take care! Deb Open RNY 1-13-04 -71 lbs.

Thanks. I needed that from both of you. It was still bad today. I figured it up on fitday and I ATE 1700 CALORIES. How could that happen except me stuffing things in my mouth not paying attention. Gotta nip this in the bud right now. I have almost never hit 1000 calories but the past two days something is way wacky. I don't like it.

Konnie ~ YOU ARE stronger than food! YOU ARE stronger than your emotions! YOU ARE stronger than your past pitfalls! Congrats on recognizing that hole in the road - now just walk AROUND it instead or falling IN it! > Barbie
