Topic: RE: 5 month check up!
Still Tired! Just kidding. I am doing great. I am down 50 lbs. The energy is slowly returning. Don't have to many issues with food. I still like to eat! Somedays I think I can eat way more than I should and somedays I don't eat enough. I guess that is why my loss is on the slow side. I am exercising more but I still don't like it. What can I say, I'm lazy. Since it has turned hot, I have been having dizzy spells. I went and had blood work done and all was normal. Still haven't figured out what is causing them. Anyone else have this problem? Everyone take care and have a happy 5th month. Leanne 245/195/???

Topic: 5 month check up!
Hi everyone! We are all nearing our 5 month check up since surgery. I'm sure we are all feeling much better (or I hope we are). How are you all? My surgery was January 6th, and I have lost about 115 lbs. I am hoping to lose another 5 before the 6th of this month (haven't weighed in a bit...so its possible, I'll weigh again on Friday). I have so much more energy, and I almost enjoy exercise (I did say ALMOST!) I signed up and am walking in the Race for the Cure here in the DC area this weekend...can't believe it! I want to hear from you all, how are you? Erika January 6, 2004 379/264/150

I know what you mean. I think we will all feel this way one time or another. We have all been on dozens of other programs and have failed. As long as you are drinking your water, getting in your protein and making good food choice, know that the weight will continue to come off! It'll also help once you can get back out and exercise! Sorry you are so worried! HUGS! Erika

My surgeon never said any of that. I do eat corn but about one gerber spoonful and that is all. I eat raisens.. they go down pretty good. Grapes, I heard if you freeze them they taste better. Coconut... not sure on this, be careful it has alot of natural oils and sugar. I can eat popcorn too, just chew it up really good. I guess the reason your surgeon dont want you to eat it because it may close your stoma. All I can say is try it and see how you feel. Good luck Linda

No I dont think the honey moon is over. I think it will be over once we get closer to our one year mark, Hang in there.... we will all hit the platues. Hope this helps. Hi there! I LOVE popcorn! I eat it all the time! The new snack packs are perfect size - I get it with a little bit of salt and light butter - its yummy! As for corn - I've had it multiple times - my Dr. didn't say anything about corn, grapes or raisins. Although - I don't like raisins so I wouldn't eat them anyway. My theory ~ I will try it, if it doesn't agree with me, then ya know! Just mho... Barbie 281/222/150ish

I have to agree here...what a great place to be able to share with others who are at the same place in our journey. I have been stuck at 214 and now 210 for like 2.5 weeks. It is really starting to get old. I guess I got used to the weight coming off faster and the plateaus make me impatient. Since I had been doing so well when I saw him at the end of April, my doc said I should be at goal of 160 at the end of July and now I am freaking out that I wont be. I plan on celebrating somehow when i finally hit that 199 mark (below 200)..but these last 11 pounds are being obstinate. I know this too shall pass...but daggone it I sure wi**** would hurry up... Hugs to all, Harriet 304/210/160

Kelli, I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same way a few days ago. I am now down 87 ( well, 86.5) lbs... I'm at 200.5 lbs.. darn.. I want to see the 100s too. I was on a plateau for about a month.. then it started going down again. I get scared all the time.. and then I think about how I eat almost all the time.. and I do.. or it feels that way. But like Dawn said.. we are all in the same boat. It feels good to have this board to go to. I stay a lot on the Texas board .. but when I feel really down.. I come here and find you guys who are all suffering just like me.. and it really is amazing to see that we are going through a lot of the same things. So.. don't feel alone.. we are not stopping here.. just slowing down to smell the roses.. I'm actually enjoying getting into the 16 jeans.. I'd never wear them before.. (jeans I mean) I was always afraid that people would be looking at how far the pockets on my butt were apart. I guess that sounds funny now.. but that is what I thought.. So, you told us when it stopped.. now don't forget to tell us when it starts back again Jan
