I was Cheezin yesterday I went for my post op visit, I'll be 5 months out on the 20th and I am down 89 pounds I've went from a size 22/24 to a very comfortable 14 , all my blood work was normal, no hair loss so far, no complications. It feels good to be a loser. Melinda

Hi Christine, Yes I get stuck too, especially at that lovely time of the month! But I have noticed that when I am stuck pound wise that I seem to lose the inches a lot faster! So now when I am stuck I just say to myself over and over "1 more inch lost" and I don't seem to get so bummed. I am also an every day hop on the scales person. This last week I cut out the last of my BP meds, which have a slight diuretic in them, so I have been gaining about .5# every day since then, but I know it will plateau out eventually. Hopefully tomorrow!!!! But in the meantime I am saying 1 more inch, one more inch, and tonight I put on size 14 jeans a friend gave me just to try - and I can zip them up and sit down and not turn blue!!!!!!!! Big change from size 22/24! Hang in there! SArah

Chrissy, I felt the same way. I was stuck at 205 forever (6 weeks), but in the last 2 weeks have finally gotten to 195. The only noticable difference I did was to increase water. Im really terrible about drinking 64 oz a day, but with that crystal light "Sunrise" (YUMMY!) I have been able to increase it to over that amount, and it really seemed to help. Thank you for posting, because it helps so much to know we are not alone in this. I hate being a slow loser, but I guess I should stop worrying, since at no matter what rate its coming off, Im still a "loser"..Every time I plateau tho, I panic thinking the surgery failed. We'll all get thru this, together Ill be praying your plateau is broken very quickly

Hi everyone!!! I was reading through the posts and came across Catherine's post about the hair we are losing. I too am losing hair and have lost alot right around my forhead. Earlier this week my dietician and I were emailing and she explained what is happening. The hair loss is normally a transient phase that all weight loss patients go through. But for extreme hair los, like i'm having, she diagnosed it as "Protein Deficiency Malnutrition". I fall into this category because I am having a hard time getting in 50mg of protein a day let alone eating normal meals. The solution to this is to push the protein to 50mg - 80mg a day. I'm also on prenatal vitamins that are prescribed by the surgeon. So we have to push the protein to the max and the hair loss will eventually stop. I'm looking at getting a haircut but my husband does not want me too...
