Cathy-
Best of luck to Chris for his interview @ SUNY Potsdam! Dam! That would be soooo
awesome if you were to move here!
Tell Doc Hill I say hello! I'd ask you to give him a hug for me, but that's going a little too far! HaHaHa! You gotta love the man! I had to fast for my lab work.
I'm so glad that Brett is going to make the journey!
Please wish him luck for me.
Love to you and yours!
Kimberley

Topic: What are you all eating??
Hi all - I was wondering, what's your menu like at this far out? I have been really struggling with food lately, can't tolerate more than 2 teaspoons at times.
I know I'm not getting enough protein in - I do drink 2 shakes a day, getting in 60 grms of protein, but I know I need more. I can't seem to get it from foods, in fact the thing that works best is fruit.
What is your experience??
((hugs)) Carla

Topic: best way to guard against plateaus
I wanted to share this with everyone
I found this on the Internet.
The best way to guard against plateaus is to follow the 4 Rules of Success:
1. Eat protein first at any meal and try to limit your daily carbohydrate intake to 20 grams.
2. Drink water. Strive for 64 ounces per day.
3. Don't graze. You will soon find out that you can out eat this surgery by snacking.
4. Exercise. This is the most important way to avoid plateaus.
If you still plateau and you are following these rules then you know that a plateau is just a plateau!!!

Kim,
Isn't this whole thing amazing? I see Doc Hill on Monday, so we'll miss each other in the waiting room. I'm having my labs drawn tomorrow morning. Are any of the normals fasting labs? I'll have to call my local hospital. I'm hoping to go to the first August meeting with Brett, the man you met at the office. He's been my husband's best friend (our best man) since kindergarten and has never canoed, climed a tree, or jumped rope because he has been obese his whole life, which we all can relate to. He's planning on his surgery in the late fall. Seeing us change has been very helpful to him and a great motivator to make the biggest decision of his life.
I hope to see you in August...We'll have to walk around with our scars exposed so we'll recognize each other!!
Love to you and your girl,
Catherine
...Chris is interviewing for a position at SUNY Potsdam this summer. We might become neighbors!
Topic: RE: Information about our the hair we are losing...
Michele,
Your information has made me come to terms with the reality that I am not eating enough protein. The powder supplement that I have is horrendous, so other than the small amount of protein food that I eat, I have only been having an occasional protein bar. My husband is picking up some better powder on his way home from work tonight. The reality is that I am responsible for everything that goes (or doesn't go) into my body. Prenatal vitamins might be a great idea, too. I'll check around. Thanks so much.
Catherine
What is it about husbands and haircuts? Mine doesn't want me to get a cut either...

Hi All! Just wanted to share with you that I had my doctor's appt. last Wednesday with Dr. Hill. Everything is going great! He is truly incredible! Since I last saw him in March I have gotten my hair cut real short, am down 84 lbs. (164 lbs.) and am in a size 12/14 and some 10's! He was truly unbelieveable! He told me my labs were perfect and that he loved my hair and that I looked great and was doing fantastic! If only all doctors could have his personality!
He is my angel
that has given me a tool to use and oh how I've used it and made it work! I only have 29 more pounds to go to reach my goal weight of 135 and Dr. Hill has agreed that it's a good goal for me. I'm sure that 29 pounds will take forever and it'll drive me crazy.
One thing is I haven't lost any hair yet! Thank God!
I feel wonderful, but still feel like I did before I lost the 84 lbs. Will this ever go away?
What I mean is health wise I feel great, but I still feel FAT!
I've been shopping for my trip to Florida and that has been fun! Everytime I put a new piece of clothing on in a smaller size I think "It must be sized incorrectly."
I'm so happy
that I made the decision to have WLS and I'd do it again in a minute!
Best of luck to all of your in journey ahead!
Kimberley

Topic: RE: New Bras...
Catherine-
Glad to hear you're doing well! Keep up the good work!
I too have gotten new bra and underpants! Went from 44DD to 40D (I think I'll need to go down to 38C's before long) and from size 10 to 7 in the underpants!
I saw Dr. Hill last Wednesday am down a total of 84 lbs. WOW! I just can't believe it. I have 29 more pounds to go to get my goal! Which Dr. Hill agreed was a good weight for me! He is totally awesome! He his truly an angel
that gave me a wonderful tool and I have made it work! If only all doctors could be like him! My lab results were great and I'm off my liptor. My AIc was 5.1, which is fantastic! I can't believe how much better I feel! I don't go back to him until Sept. 1.
I'm now wearing size 12 & 14's and some 10's!
I went to the monthly meeting last Tuesday and missed you! I won't be at the next one, as I'll be in Florida. Leaving on the 29th of this month for 2 1/2 weeks! I can't wait! I've been shopping for my Florida clothes, it's such fun and a great feeling.
Best of luck to all in your journey!
