Hi Deb, sounds like you are doing great. I have issues with food as well, but I'm coming to learn - we all do! I'm like you, some days I feel like I can eat, and other days I don't.
Keep up the great work - Congrat's on your loss!
((hugs)) Carla

It is Deb H. here and I am doing great. I am now 5 months out and I have lost 80lbs. and I am feeling great. Clothes are falling off of me and I buy used clothing and I where them a few weeks and they are falling off, but it feels great. It has slowed down a little now and I need to work harder at it now but it is all worth it. I wish I would of done it sooner but am just really happy that I did it now. I have people asking me if I am anorexic and I laugh because I am far from that and I still like to eat just not as much, I think they are asking because the 80lbs did come off pretty fast and it really does show, but I am not and I feel great been back for 2 checkups and I am doing what I am suppose to be doing and they said to keep up the good work. I do have a few problems with some foods but then I do something different. Some days I feel like eating and some days I don't but at my checkup I asked about it and they said that I would have days like that so I am not worried. Well, I hope things are great with everyone else and anyone can email me I love emails.

Topic: RE: HOW MANY CALORIES A DAY SHOULD WE BE CONSUMING AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME?
Hi Teri,
My surgeon suggested that I keep to as close to 700 cal a day as I can, but that whatever ex I do, I can have a little more cal that day.
For me, some days the 700 cal is really hard to reach, and other days, the 700 cal is too easy to reach! I try to concentrate on my fluids (at least 64 oz), get at least 60 gms of protein a day, and some sort of formal, intentional exercise every day (by which I mean walking, swimming, ex class etc).
Good luck!

Topic: RE: Where should I end up?
Barbie,
I too am 5'7" with a large frame and lots of muscle. Because I was so proportioned and muscular most people do not believe me when I tell them I wore a 22 or 24 size, or that I was almost 300# at time of surgery. They DO notice the change in me in the past 5 months though and are very supportive and I was applauded when I tried on a pair of jeans a co-worker brought for me - size 14 - and they fit!!!
I also have not picked a number (or been given one by my surgeon) as a goal, however, I do want my BMI NOT to correspond with a title with the word 'obese' in it. So looking at the charts, a BMI of 25-27 is considered overweight, 27-30 is mildly obese, and so on up from there. So a BMI of 27 is about a 173# for a 67" tall person, if I am doing the math correctly. So for now, I am thinking about 160#, but depends on how my body looks and how I feel. Maybe more, maybe less.
To figure your BMI: Take your weight in pounds and multiply it by 704.5. Divide this number by the square of your height in inches - 4489 for 5'7" (67 times 67).
Hope this helps!

Carla,
I am eating a lot of yogurt. Krogers has a 6 oz no fat, made with splenda yogurt that is only 80 cal and has 7 gm of protein, and the small chunks of fruit are just the right size. You can add a little bit of milk powder to boost the protein up a bit without changing the taste or texture. My surgeon told me I could stop the supplements at my 3 mo f/up appt, but I find I don't usually get enough protein in a day if I don't have at least one. I usually eat 2 yogurts a day, then dinner I try to eat about 2-3 oz of meat, a fruit and a veggie. Sometimes I can only get in the protein. I also find that I can eat a slice of cheese almost anytime as a snack, at only 60 cal and 6 protein it is a good deal. The yogurt works well for work days, as it is easy to eat and swallow and not get sick on easily, which is important at work.
It looks like you are doing great! Down 104#, is that right? Fantastic!!!!!!
Keep on with being a loser!

Hi Carla,
Well I found this yogurt that I just love it's a mousse and it's orange dream cycle. It's whipped and too good, I keep loosing and I eat it for breakfast every morning along with a cup of Mott's apple cinnamon applesauce.
for lunch I usually have a bowl of salad, my fave is grilled chicken breasts on the BBQ, and chop each one up and put it in a ziplock bag for the whole week, I also add 1 t of soy sauce and 2 pkgs splenda to the meat 1 breast to a bag and then freeze it. I take out my one chicken breast in the morning and fill 1/2 the bowl with salad, I add maderine oranges, red onions, tomatoes, and sometimes chunks of cheese. And then I top it off with some poppyseed dressing. I'm hooked on it, I try to have it every day for lunch. Try it...it satisfies all your cravings at once.
For dinner I eat what ever my husband is having, usually BBQ meat and a salad, we got that from the Carb Addicts Diet and feel better at night after eating.
I am currently having trouble with snacking, it's more like grazing, I must stop, but am having trouble.
I hope this gave you some new ideas.
Good Luck
