Topic: Keep taking those vitamins!!!!
I have learned a valuable lesson this last month. I have been at 156.5 for like 4 weeks. I was starting to get mad and depressed about it. Well I hadn't been taking my vitamins (multi-vit and foltrim, which is iron and b-complex) because I switched to my husbands insurance and the prescription plan has been messed up.
Well any way.....I went to walmart and got iron and a b-complex over the counter until the insurance is figured out, I figured some was better than none. Now I bought these on thursady and shock shock I was still at 156.5. Well I weighed my self on saturday and I was down to 152.5.
I lost 4 lbs in 2 days. I wasn't doing anything different except the vitamins so I truely believe that this has been the biggest cause of my slump. not just that but I was beyond exhaustion because of the lack of b-12 and iron. And I am a nurse I should know better. But I just want you guys to make sure to take your vitamins!!!!!!!

Topic: RE: HOW MANY CALORIES A DAY SHOULD WE BE CONSUMING AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME?
I love FitDay, it's been a huge help to me. I eat 500-650 calories a day, trying to get at least 60 grams of protein within that. I also walk my treadmill 2-3 times a week, and am increasing that. I had a brief plateau a month ago, right around -90 lbs., and the exercise seemed to get things going again.
I see a lot of people on here whose docs say 700-1000 calories a day, but (1) I'm afraid to eat that much and slow or stop my weight loss, which is about -110 lbs. in less than 6 months; and (2) I'm feeling fully satisfied and healthy at around 500 calories a day, so why mess with success? My doc never gave us a calorie target, just a protein target with minimal sugar and fat. I still have about 75 pounds to lose, so I want to keep the momentum going.
I say, whatever works for you, do it!

Topic: I'M SOOOO Happy!
Hey All!
I had the BEST weekend in terms of my weight loss. For most of my life - I have been the "fat" sister. I have 4 other sisters. As we grew older, some of my sisters have put on weight and lost weight. All but one has still always weighed significantly less then me. There is one sister in particular that has always been the "smaller" sister.
This weekend her 6-week old boy (her first) spit up all 4-ozs of his bottle all over her and needed a new shirt. I was the only one with extra clothes available, so I lent her one. It was too small for her!!!! I lent her another one that I have that is roomy on me! I was sooooooo excited! I will say that she just had her first baby where she gained 90lbs. But she still can't weigh more than 175 right at the moment! I do still weigh more than that - but since I hit the gym all the time - I am less flabby and fit better into shirts! Only you all would know that that feeling is better than ANY food tastes in the whole wide world!
PS - she used to ALWAYS tease me about my weight as a kid (even though I wasn't "fat" then). I didn't take the opportunity to gloat right then, I figured the gesture was reward enough!
Take care all!

Topic: RE: Vitimins for Hair Loss
This is the first post that I've seen on any message board regarding that. I will be getting these next week (payday). My hair is very thin and fine anyway.. and I'm beginning to lose some so it looks absolutely horrid. Or I think so anyway. Thanks so much for your post. ~Jan

Rub it in. I have very fine hair -- baby fine actually -- and it is coming out in handfulls. I'll try to add those vitamins -- I was also told that Zinc will help by my surgeon.

I have my surgery Jan 28,2004. And to date I have lost 91lb from my pre-op weight. I lost 20lbs before wls. So I guess you would have to say that I've lost 111lbs all together. I would like to reach my goal to weight 185lb, but my Dr. would like for me to get to 200lbs. I think that is to much weight but that where he want me at.
