Topic: RE: Keep taking those vitamins!!!!
That is great you are down 78 pounds. First, my name is JoAnn. I too had the surgery on January 19th. In my beginning months it was hard on me as my system was not allowing me to keep down the foods I was eating. So you know where I was most of the time. It was a bummer at first. But I am now 5 months and around 3 1/2 to 4 months after the surgery my system starting digesting the food. Except I still have some problems with noodles, rice and sometimes potatos, Pork chops no mattewr how thin I get them they will noyt digest for me. Other than that I am able to eat most foods now. I weighed 419 before I decided to have the surgery. I lost 21 1/2 pounds 2 weeks before the surgery. I now weigh 303. I total that at 116 pounds. I was at a 3 week stand still not losing weight and I was told that is normal. I am happy with waht I have lost and I no longer have to take my diabetes or B/P meds. I am only taking Celexa for depression and talwin every now and then for my knee pain. I do take a Multiviatmin with iron,. 1500 MG of calcium, B-Complex every day and 1000 Mg B-12 shot once a month. I am so happy to be off my meds. I have 175 pounds to go to get down to be 130 Pounds. But I will see what I look like at 150 pounds. I think I will have to go down to 130 pounds as I am small bone and I am only 5 foot. I wish you much sucess as you comtinue to lose the weight and I also would love to be your new friend and get emails from you. My email addresss is [email protected] I look forward to hearing from you.Take care and God Bless you.
Sincerly,
JoAnn

Topic: Male RNY Information?
Hi Everyone,
Since male and females react so differently to WLS, I would love to hear some more experiences, from other males. I am looking for their experiences, with...protein intake, diet choices, and exercise, and any other specific experiences to us WLS males.

Renee,
Thanks for the chuckle! Although - I'm sorry to hear about your sister and her missing your daughter's wedding - she will regret that for the rest of her life.
I hope that you two can patch things up soon - life is too short to stay mad long...
Great job on your loss too! It is by certainly no means the "easy way out".

Well, as of last week I was -58 lbs. I weigh myself every Wed. and it is consistently showing a -2 to -3 lbs per week. I hope to lose at least the 2 lbs this week as that will put me at -60 lbs for my 5 month anniversary on the 26th. GREAT for me, but certainly not as awesome as some of the other loses here. That will put me at 43 lbs to goal!! Woo Hoo!

Topic: RE: Count Cal/fat/carb??
The only thing that I am conscious of counting is my protein and water. Everything else just goes with it. I do try to limit the "bad carbs". I track on Fitday so my calories typically show anywhere from 800-1000 calories a day. My nutritionist told me to make sure I get all my protein in first and then if I had room to eat good carbs. Fats she limited me to 30 grams a day, approximately 10 grams per meal...MAX.
I'm a slow loser, but it is steady. Good luck!
