Hi! I had surgery January 29th, 2004. I am doing great. I am below goal. I weighed 131 this morning, my original goal was 145, then I changed it to 135 and now I would like to try to see if I can make it to 129, just for the heck of it. We just got home from a week long trip to San Diego (beautiful city) and I just KNEW I had probably gained some weight because we ate at some wonderful places and it seemed like we were eating all the time. But, I came home weighing exactly the same. Amazing! Before WLS I could have expected to gain a good 10 pounds. I am so happy to have had WLS. It has sooo changed my life for the better. The best thing is that I finally just to feel like me, like this is how I am supposed to look and feel, does that make sense to anyone else? The other me was a skinny person in a fat person's body, screaming to be let out. And to wear normal sized clothing right off the rack. I hated having to shop in the Plus size departments. We can wear MUCH cuter and stylish clothes now...how cool is that. BTW, I am in a size 4 jeans and pants and small top. I was a size 20/22 before. It was never my goal to be a size 4, in fact I was hoping to be a size 10. I had tons of 10's from skinny days of yore. Would love to hear from some of you and find out your results... Suzie in Texas

I will be having my surgery on Dec 16th this year.............. I can't wait until it is over with. I am then going to try and get the arms done......... but the tummy is the biggest thing that bothers me............ I have never had a flat tummy before this is going to be really exciting!

I can eat candy to.............. Love it! I drink alot of water every day....... I try to limit the candy and find some sunflower seeds or something better for me to eat............ There are better food choices out there............ Find things with proteins even nuts are good. It is easy to fall back into old habits.............. Keep choosing good eating habits and stick to your docs diet and you will lose that in no time! I know you can do it!

Hey there! We share the same surgery date and I understand where you are coming from about not visiting this site much anymore. I am down to about 168-170 but wish I could lose a bit more. I dont have any prob with sugar either..at least not with small amounts. If I eat a snack size milky way (love em frozen), Im ok but anything bigger...I feel nauseous. The only other issue I have is with fat content. Cant tolerate much in fat or I get SOOO nauseated. I cant tolerate cheese at all at this point and eggs are difficult to get down too. Other than that I can eat just about anything ...just small amounts, which probably not a good thing. I havent had any followup with a surgeon becasue we moved righ after my surgery, but I am trying to get in with one here...I think I need a support group to help me stay on track. Since I just read you post, I am a week behind in the challenge, but my goal for this week will be to cut back on empty carb consumption and eat protein first thing every day. ALso, take my vitamins faithfully every day!! I find I forget often. Lets see how well I do with that for a week.. let me know how you did this week. Hugs, Harriet Lap RNY 1/12/2004 304/168
