Is anyone else out there expecting? I'm not sure yet, but I'm hoping thats the reason I've been sick alot lately. Or is anyone else just sick all the time no matter what you eat, how little or how much?

BCBS is paying only for my Panni. The Dr. suggested that they would not pay for a regular tummy tuck (with muscle work) because mine was not extensive enough. He did express concern because I have really good skin - so he said. I just kept saying "if I don't use powder every morning - buy the afternoon I have a developing rash". I brought no documentation with me. He examined me - and played with all my flabs - and took pictures. It then took 2 1/2 weeks to get approval from BCBS with no further fights. I wish you all the best. I can't wait to get rid of this apron so I can see how pants are really suppose to fit. Good Luck Dawn

Distal also has a greater risk for vitamin deficiency if you are faithful because of the malabsorption. Take care, Robin

Hi and Congrats on you upcoming PS. Can I ask you how you were able to get BCBS to pay? Are they paying for a Panni? Are you having muscle work done too? Are you staying overnight? I have the Blues and my PS does not submit for approval. Says to do it after the fact. What documentation did you provide in order to get your approval? My ETT is scheduled for Dec 16. Can't wait!

proximal they bypass less intestine and you can absorb more.......... distal they bypass more intestine and you are not able to absorb as much and are more likely to have dumping syndrome.

I need some Info, Just for my inquisitive mind. lol I know that the difference between Proximal and Distal is the amount of intestine Bypassed, and that it effects absorption some How, but what else should I know about the difference between Proximal and distal? Albert

I am doing great. I had lost all my weight by 11 months out. And now I am just holding on tight to it. Sometimes it is hard due to head hunger, but I am controlling that much better now thanks to some self help books and a great support buddy. When Hurricane Katrina hit that threw me off for a while as we were without power and water and my place of employment got hit pretty hard, but now i am getting back into my routine and back exercising like I should which has made maintaining much much easier. I am considering a tummy tuck but a little nervous about another surgery. I had my Rny 1/15/04 and then in Dec 2004 had to have my gall bladder out. So not sure when I will go for the tummy tuck but I would really really like to have one. Melissa Lap Rny 1/15/04 277/136 -141 pounds
