I had lap RNY on 1/21/04 and have lost a total of 158 pounds. I follow my diet to a T and take my vitamins every day and exercise. Here is my problem. My fiance has a women in his office that keeps telling him that he should watch me because I will die since she knew people that have had the surgery and have died. And that if I do die he will be blamed for my death for over feeding me. This is stressing him out and I do not know what to do to reassure him that I am fine and that I will not die. When I had the surgery we were still in a LDR and he was not there when the surgery was performed or there when I went threw the pre-op testing and classes. Any advice on how I can handle this situation would be helpful.

Yeah I notice things like that to.............. people seem to treat you different............... The sad thing is I had to lose the wieght for them to notice!

I went to Walmart this eve, and I picked up one of those sports bras and matching shorts to start wearing to my ex classes, cause I get so hot with long pants. My dtr in law was with me and assured me that this skimpy thing would fit me and not show every crack and fold.....I was in line and the man standing in line ahead of me said something about the clothes being good for going to a swimming hole and it was the perfect day for that today. I replied that I would have to see if they would fit first before I would wear it in public. He turned and looked at me and said "It will look great on you and show only all the positives!!!" When he left the cashier was kinda smirking at me and my dtr in law was about to bust with laughing. I told the cashier 'I have to tell you how funny this is, I have lost over 100# recently and that was the 3rd stranger to talk with me tonight!" I keep reading how people notice this happening to them after they lose weight and I always discounted it, because I always go out of my way to talk with people in stores, and strike up conversations in the strangest places....... But now they are coming to me and striking up conversations!!!!! WILD!!! Had to pass this on!!!! Sarah
