Topic: abdominaplasty
I had my abdominaplasty on 12/13 - I can't believe that is was considered day surgery. Everything is going good, I feel a little sore - but what else can you expect when you are cut in the middle with a huge upside down T. I am sure I will feel 100% better once the drains are removed. Yuck.
Best wishes to everyone for the holiday season.

My guess is you probably won't lose a lot more unless you really go on a starvation diet but that's just my opinion. It's just hard to lose after the 18 month mark.
My surgery date was 1/20/04. I started at 410 lbs, lost to 200 lbs and could not seem to lose another pound. My surgeon, PCP and plastic surgeon were all saying you've lost enough, there is no fat left to lose, only muscle. I finally decided to give it 4 months and have plastic surgery which I did in October. I was still at 210 lbs on surgery day. The surgeon removed 22 lbs when she did my abdominaplasty. I now weigh 190 but wear a size 12 pants and size 14 top (due to bustline). According to the plastic surgeon I might continue to lose into smaller clothes up to six months out from surgery, as I heal from plastic surgery.
I was not happy with my body at 210 lbs, I looked like the Michelin man with my rolls of skin/tissue. After the plastic surgery I'm very happy to be where I am mentally and physically. I won't ever be a size 4 but I have a large frame and look great at 190. I have bones sticking out in every direction now. Nobody believes me when I tell them I still weigh that much.
Best of luck in making the right decision for you.

Hello Cheryl,
I'm pretty much at a stand still too ... but my doctor told me that I would reach this point and to go further I'd have to increase my physical activity....Lately that has been difffilcult with work and demands for my time... but I plan to get busy between now and my annual check-up and return to going to the fitness center..regularly... when I first started out I was going daily...now I'm doing good to get there say once a month... I need to make me the priority again... Maybe that will jumpstart you loss as well. Gool luck I feeling you...I'm not complaining either..but I would like to be under the 200 lbs. mark by January 25th when I go for my appt. Sorry don't have any information about reconstructive surgery at this point..I expect to hear details when I go for my annual visit. Good luck to you.
