Betty, Betty, Betty, you have nothing to be ashamed of! 90 lbs. in 6 months!!
That's fantastic! I started out at 248 lbs. and have lost a total of 96.5 (12 lbs. before surgery) so in reality I've only lost 84.5 in 6 months! I'm one of the slower losers, but I don't care, I'm loosing!!
I go by my scales. There are consistent with my doctors. I go back to my surgeon on 9/1/04.
Keep up the good work!!

Topic: ?? Roux Stasis Syndrome-do you have it??????
Hi. I had my lap RNY 1-23-04. As of last Thurday my surgeon said there is a possiblity I may have Roux Stasis Syndrome. Have any of you experience this and is it something that I may have the rest of my life? I also read on the internet that there is a possibility of surgery with this- again did anyone have to have surgery? I've read the information location in the Obesity Help Library but would also like to chat with someone who may have first hand experience with this or know of someone who does.
Thanks!!!!

Dear Char... Like the other Charolette said.. weight is only a number. I'm not worried about what the dr said about what my goal weight should be.. I'm at 181 right now.. I think another 20 or 25 lbs is all my frame should be worried about. I shall see when I get there. I'm doing water aerobics three times a week.. and am satisfied with that for now. I walk a lot at work.. so my job is not that sedentary. I don't really gauge my food all that much.. I keep it around 1000.. I think.. I'm still losing about 2 lbs a week.. sometimes nothing..
I think that we have been obsessed with the weight so long.. and although the goal is a good one.. I think I am focusing more on my life now than ever. I've been too worried about my weight to do much with me. Now I'm trying to shift my focus a little. Just follow the rules and live. I think we are now going to have to focus on being "normal" what ever that is... but I think we are up to the challenge.. we are now at weights that so many people would kill for.. or have wls for..
so.. keep up the good work and LIVE..

Your doing great Betty,
I have only lost 72 lbs. and have been stuck on a plateau for 4 weeks, you exercise way more than me, and you look great.
Wouldn't you agree that any weightloss is better than gaining? And had you not had the surgery you would have done just about anything to loose 25 lbs. not to mention even 90.
So Cheer Up your doing great, your just in a bigger hurry than your body.

Barbie,
Congrats!!!!!! Now don't let that traveling get your exercise slagging.
Sounds like a dream job to me. I am a nurse but always thinking about doing something else these days. Burnout maybe?
80 pounds is AWESOME!

Charlotte,
That's 15lbs per month... I'm no doctor - but is that even good for you this far out? I thought our weight loss kind of slowed from this point out to a more reasonable rate. You will lose more by eating more if you are not getting a sufficient amount of calories for your body to run efficiently. But in my opinion (again - not medical) one can only exercise so much.
9 months is no magic number hun. Neither is a weight - they are all only numbers. Do what feels good to you. Stop at a size that you are comfortable with - that's a better judge than a weight.
Good luck - you are doing great! Keep up the good work!

Cindy
You're doing great! We all go through those "stuck" times. My surgeon says to make sure I keep my calories close to 1000 (no less) and drink water. (I drink tons of crystal lite). Also, I am starting to exercise a lot more. He said that will all help! I thought I was consuming a lot more calories than I actually have been. SO I write my foods down so that I can make sure I'm getting enough.
