I wish i could explain it to you, but unfortunately I feel the same way. I started out at 220 and am 5'3" tall. Now my wgt for my hgt is 125 I would like to get to 120 and my NP would like 130. Okay that's great 130, but I have been bouncing between 140 and 145 for a month now....At one point I had gotten down to 139 and boy was that great. I have heard that trying some of those plateau diets might help and I am going to try one of them and see what happens.I would really like to get down to my personal goal, but i feel as though I am down as far as my body will let me go, not that it isn't better than what I started at, but You start losing so fast then you want to lose more....I mean I went from a 22/20 to a 9/8 what more could anyone want right? I will let you know if this plateau diet works for me or not.

Explain the window of opportunity???????? Am I finish with the weight lose? I am almost 8 months and I have only lost 80 pounds. I say only because I feel like I have done everything to the T including excercising 5-6 times a week for an hour and ten minutes. I follow the eating plan protien first, then 2-3 tablespoons of veggies. I try to eat between 600-750 calories a day. I haven't eaten sugar, bread, potatoes, rice, pasta in 8 months. I read the boards daily to look for information. I am happy to see so many people successful. I read people losing 80 pounsds in four months(and they do not weight more, many are around my weight and height). I started at 256, 5ft 2 inches. I am angry, disappointed and mad. I'm happy about the 80 pounds, I wear a size 10 confortable and can wear a tight 8 but I do not get get, why isn't the weight coming off. Please repond, I need help!!!

Been there as well.
Iwas 180 for almost a mnth, then this week I weighed in and it said 175, awesome right, well I weighed in today because I feel thinner and usually that means more weight loss, I gained 3 pnds back so I am ready to strangle someone as well. I pray this is not the end all!!!!!

I know how the depression can go, I have suffered for yrs and now I am not on any meds so many days I feel like you. I can understand the dilema of all the traveling. what else is there but take out?
Just keep up on your meds and maybe adjust them alittle more now that you definatly have extra stress and make plans ahead to try to deal with the traveling isssues.
We go on day trips and I have my salads etc ready in tupperware and my snacks in baggies so I wont eat out.
I cant eat hamburgers or much bread so I am glad about that but the temptation is still there I am sure.
Just try to keep in mind that you have come such a long way and look so fabulous and this is very well worth all you go through.
Keep the faith and come any time to vent, I pray we can all be of some guidance and comfort for you when you need it,

OMG, my hair loss is HORRIBLE!!! I've lost most of my hair!! I had surgery jan 28. I am Still loosing my hair. I FILL my brush every 2 days. No joke. AND nothing has helped to stop it. I just PRAY it comes back....Sigh

I lost a lot of hair for two weeks around my 4 month mark. Every time I brushed my hair I'd have to clean out the brush. Suddenly it stopped and I haven't lost any beyond the norm since then. I have not seen any signs of regrowth so far.

It will take a while to adjust to all the changes. Give yourself a break, but don't allow food to become your focus again. I don't know why you can't go out to eat with your co-workers. I've eaten out with friends from seven weeks on and feel my choices are as good when I eat out as they are at home. I always have a take out box which you can't do on the road, but I assume the company is paying for your food so you can leave it without too much guilt. You can find meat & salad anywhere. Take your own salad dressing if you prefer.

I had lost 6 pounds in six weeks. Someone mentioned the Stillman diet to me so I decided to give it a try. I lost 11 pounds in 9 days, then gained back 2 pounds when I went back on Dr. Atkins. No problem, that gave me a monthly loss of 13 pounds which I appreciate.
The person who mentioned it to me was 15 pounds from goal, had been on a 4 month plateau. She lost 8 pounds in 10 days.
I plan to do the Dr. Stillman diet one week out of the month until I finish losing my weight. That is assuming it continues to work for me. It is very restrictive so not something you could do long term. Probably not healthy to stay on it either. You can type: Stillman diet in your search engine and get a copy of the diet if you'd like to check it out.

Hi Pat,
Like you, I've lost 93 pounds since surgery. I wi**** would drop faster. I was a heavyweight and expected the weight to drop faster. Dummy me, if I had a bad metabolism before surgery why did I expect it to change?
My surgeon is pleased with my loss and told me I had three things going against my being a fast loser (1) Over 50, (2) diabetic, (3) slow metabolism from years of yo-yo dieting. I only lost 5 pounds the first week and we all know I could not eat that week.
My surgeon does not allow protein shakes/bars after six weeks. He feels we get more nourishment from food. I consumed an average of 702 calories per day last month. My food plan looks similar to this every day:
B- 4 oz grits
2 slices turkey bacon
1 scrambled egg
Most days I don't eat it all. Breakfast is my hardest meal because the bacon & eggs both tend to make me feel a bit sick so I quit eating. The rest of the day food sits well in my pouch.
L- 3.5 Oz Pork chop or steak (braised or grilled)
Lettuce
Italian fat free salad dressing
D- 4 Oz Shrimp, pork chop, steak, etc (braised or grilled)
Lettuce (or onions & peppers)
Italian fat free salad dressing
S- 2 SF Popcicles
If I get really hungry I will eat 8 almonds as an additional snack.
