numbness and tingling of the finger tips and feet I am two years out, and for the past week I have been experiencing numbness and tingling of the hands and feet. I have ignored it, but it has not gone away, so I wanted to ask if anyone thinks it may be related in any where to the WLS... Any is welcomed... I have an appointment to see my doctor on March 3rd Alberto

Hi Elaine I am having a hard time lately.. I am two years out, I was 275lbs before surgery, I didn't loose anything before surgery then after surgery I have lost a total of 95 lbs which is %80 of my excess weight, but in the last 4 to 5 months I have gained 10 lbs I am now 190 lbs... I need to go back to basics I guess... I need a sample 2 years out diet plan.. Do you know where I can find one? I made an appointment with my doctor for my two year anniversary.. I need him to put me in my place lol... I had blood work done with my PCP and my potassium is high, and my cholesterol is getting high again I need to get back on track... help Alberto

Wendy you are right the TT is after theh kids. The rational is that the stretching of the abdomen will undo all the muscles again and stretch your flat new tummy, you are right to wait. It will be a great reward. Take care, Robin

Wendy, first congratulaions on your success. You know sometimes our bodies stop because we are at the place we should be, and I am sure you look great. Remember the scale is only numbers. The recent OH magazine has really great articles for us. If you can get your hands on one do it. To get back on track, write down everything you are putting in your mouth. You may be amazed that you are really consuming more than you think. Stop the grazing if you are and get back to basics. Remember the 4 rules. Protein firs****er, Exercise, and Vitamins. You can get several different programs to help. Terry Simpson has some great resources at obesitydr.com that really help and Colleen Cook also has great resources at BSCI.org (Bariatric Support Center International in Salt Lake City, UT). Everyone says that as we get further out we can eat more we just have to get back to the early rules and measure everything to remind ourselves of portion size. Good luck, Robin

It feels so good to read these!! I am 2 years out. Lost all the weight the first year and spent the second year pretty much eating anything I wanted and then all of a sudden I was putting on a couple of pounds and fighting it off and then again and again. So, I made up my mind to go back to basics. Protein shake first thing, oatmeal for breakfast (really helps the gas by the way) and some cottage cheese for lunch and back to the 1/3 protien, 1/3 veg and 1/3 carb. I am doing better. Wish I could not tolerate sugar at all but I can. I get frustrated when I realize I just age something I know I should not have. So, I think we are like most normal people now that have to watch occasionally. Especially if we are not exercising daily like we know we should, not drinking the same amount of water we know we should and eating things that are not good for us. I REFUSE to be one of the few that let the weight come back. I did not go through this surgery to gain it back. So, if we have to work a little bit now - we have to work at it a little bit harder now. No more excuses!! (and I'm saying this to myself not to all of you) I was surprised to read about the gas. Ithought it was just me too!! I am terrible. I go to the restroom and flush the toilet to try and cover up the noise. But, I swear the oatmeal helps. I learned bananas are not good for me with the gas so I avoid them now. But yogurt is helpfull too so I make sure to get some every day. Between those and a gas pill now and then it's better but boy can it get bad when I eat something I shouldn't have. (sugar) I have Kaiser and have been told the TT is out of the question. Not sure if I'll ever have enough money to do it out of pocket so I just tolerate the loose skin. Thank God we wear clothes! Hey, we had the courage to do this surgery when there are lots of people out there that don't. I've had 2 women tell me they're afraid they'll die on the table. And I guess I was not afraid of that as much as I was afraid of being fat for the rest of my life. To some people change is too scary. To us change was necessary to survive. We did it!! So, let's keep being winners and learn what it takes to keep it off. We know what we were doing right when our bodies were dropping off the pounds week after week with no effort, so let's go back to those days occasionally if we have to and spend Monday - Friday doing that eating program and be a little more lienent on Sat and Sun for a few weeks. It will work. We can do this!!

Kimberley, WHAT CAN I SAY but I feel the SAME WAY!!! I lost down to 147 and that was as low as I got. ALL I DO IS CRAVE SWEETS AND COOKIES! OH LORD! I feel fat too! I don't ever want to be that way again! I am freaking out! I want a tummy tuck so bad but my budget of single mom hood will NOT allow me to get one and I don't think Tricare will cover it AT ALL... Then now I have a man in my life as well...will be a year in March and I know that he wants children so should I have the TT before or after...I say after... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for now I am so miserable feeling fat! I am with ya! Wendy in GA 247/148
