SLEEP APNEA---Mine didn't go away!!! (Grrrrr.)

Now that I'm a year post-op and have lost over 100 pounds I decided to get re-tested for sleep apnea. Although I'm having fewer apnea episodes, I still stop breathing for longer than 1 minute and my oxygen level is below 80. They actually had to increase the pressure on my CPAP machine from 12 to 13. I'm wondering how other sleep apnea folks are doing a year post-op. I honestly don't mind using the CPAP when I'm home but it's a hassle when I travel. I've had trouble finding electrical outlets while camping and the battery system I bought failed at a critical time. I have also had trouble at airports being able to carry my CPAP on the plane. I was also traveling with a valuable and fragile musical instrument and they said I had too many carry-on bags.

Mine is gone!! But I think they HAVE to let you take medical equipment and they can't consider it the same as a regular carry-on.

I got to get rid of the c-pap after loosing 70 pounds. I love not sleeping with it, although at the time I couldn't even take a nap without putting my mask on. It is amazing how WLS changes our lives.... Sandy
