Experience with Kaiser?
Hi all,
There's a possibility my insurance carrier may be changing in the near future, from BCBS CareFirst to Kaiser Permanente. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share with me how their experiences with Kaiser have been, related to your surgery (especially if you've had your reconstructive surgery!).
This change would be happening due to a job change, and yes, I'm factoring it in to my decision about whether or not to accept/reject any offers which may come my way. I sure as heck don't want to shoot myself in the foot here...
I haven't had my one-year checkup yet (that's due later this month), but my primary care doc told me last month not to even think about plastic surgery for at least another year and a half. Is that true???
Cheers,
Kathie
Well, I was told by my Kaiser nutritionist yesterday that Kaiser does not cover reconstructive surgery unless it is medically necessary. So ... document, document, document, document.
As for when, most of what I have read confirms what your doc said. Most want you to be "stable" when you get the PS done and that won't really happen for us until we are about 18 months out.
Good luck!
