So tired ....
OK ... I have been so incredibly tired and down for the past couple of days. It was pointed out to me that I was not eating enough, so I have made a concerted effort to eat more and get in at least 3 shakes a day. I have been very good about my vitamins and fluids but just am never hungry and forget to eat. Soooo , I have started to force myself to eat more (in frequency not in quantity) and yet I really have no energy. Am not sure whether it is depression or food related. Wierd. Oh well ....

You need to call your surgeon if this continues after the holidays. Often people get a bit depressed during the holidays and that can contribute to being tired constantly. It could also be a B-12 deficiency or maybe you aren't eating enough carbs (I know we are suppose to go light on them, but there is a point where we cut too much).
The surgeon should be able to run bloodwork and figure out if it is a vitamin/mineral deficiency.
Best of luck for your continued success on your wls journey.
Hi, Lida - I learned how critical it is to have our levels checked every 3 months...long before we become deficient in protein, B-12, etc., there are symptoms. We often ignore them and make excuses, tired, no energy, etc. When in reality, there is a poor physical condition due to incorrect levels of what we need in our system. Don't forget, we are by-pass patients who now process our supplements, etc. in a different manner. There is much to consider - when & what you are eating - how often - how do you take the supplements - don't forget about fibre and the 64 oz of water - and many other factors that now come into play with our new systems. So, the best thing is to get your blood levels checked and go from there regarding additional protein and supplements. Be kind to yourself. What you are feeling is not weird....it is probably a deficiency of some sort that is not obvious without lab work. When our levels are off, symptoms like depression can present itself. You have come "country miles" in your weight loss work! I commend and applaud your diligent efforts. Keep up the good work and don't forget to see the doc for your blood work/labs. Happy holidays,
