OK-I post on the main board enough about being cold.......and I just discovered this board so let's bore you guys!!!! LOL. Does anyone find that there is any particular exercise that gets your metabolism or whatever up enough you warm up all the time???? I find that I will warm up WHILE I work out, and be ok in the gym(usually I start my workout in a fleece then take it off once I stop shivering) but then my temp drops again. I have layers and layers on and now have taken to wearing my fuzzy UGG knockoff winter boots in the office(dress code, schmess code-I am COLD). I have the furnace at home cranked so high, my son changes into shorts when he gets home........we live in central canada, we pack away our shorts after september usually! It is actually getting to be a bit of a problem. Pre op, I would worry that there would not be enough food for my cavernous black hole when we went visiting or out for supper etc, now I worry that I will not be able to stop shivering and I take my slippers everywhere and have been dressing like the michelin man.......... . My coworkers laugh and say I have no body fat left, but I see me naked, and there is still fat! LOL. Heather post lap rny jan 27,2004 253/145/140

I'm having the same problem. Pre-op I was on the hot team who always wanted to cut the heat thermostat down a few degrees. I've switched to the cold team now always wanting the temp up a few degrees. I wear sweaters which I haven't worn in years prior to wls. I've also discovered a lot of bones, especially the tail bone. I can handle the problem though, when I think of all the great things wls has brought into my life. Pat (lap 1/20/04) 410/352/238/150

Heather, What you are probably seeing in the mirror is the skin.. that doesn't have much fat. I keep waiting for the "coooollllldnnnessss" to set in.. I have an occasional chillin fit.. but never the bone chilling coldness that everyone talks of. So far it isn't here.. maybe it combines with the hot flashes to make a perfect temp???? Jan
