Medical ID Bracelets...
As a paramedic, I can honestly say that Medic Alert bracelets are a lifesaver. However, please, please make sure that it looks like a medic alert and not a piece of jewlery. If it looks like a medic alert braclet/necklace our eyes will stop and notice it, if it looks like jewelry, it will probably be ignored until we have more time to take that kind of thing into account ... And if you are unconscious so can't tell us that info anyway, we probably won't have time.
The point of a medic alert bracelet is to save your life and stop potential complications should you be incapacitated and unable to communicate in an emergency with health care professionals.
Important things (IMO) to list according to importance 1) true drug allergies (including seafood = iodine) 2) acute medical conditions (heart, lung) 3) gastric bypass, NSAIDs ASA (unless, like me, you are truly allergic to aspirin and NSAIDS and then they should be listed first)

I have a medical bracelet, because I was told that if I have to be rushed to the hospital and they don't know I had this surgery and they have to run a tube down into my stomach they could puncture it not knowing that it has been moved. I thought about it and decided that I had better get one.
I have this on mine-
Surgery: ROUX-EN-Y 01/07/2004 Dr. Glas****
I hope this helped you out.
Take care and good luck
