Wow, seeing everyones totals kind of bummed me out, but then I figured I am close to goal. I started at 233 and now weigh 144. I am 14 lbs from my goal weight of 130. Best of luck to everyone to make it to goal! Kim R/az

I have lost 120 pounds. I am 7 pounds from my Dr's goal and 20 pounds from my personal goal. I have been on a plateau for 2 1/2 months... not sure if I am gonna make my goals by my one year post op appts. I am still very, very proud of myself!!

Susan I was just looking on this message board to see if anyone else has had the same problem with a long plateau. I've been on a plateau since the beginning of Oct. For some reason I can't seem to get the scales to move again. Like you I'm still proud of the weight I've lost but its so frustrating to see those scales not move for so long. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Renee: I don't know if this will help you or not, but this is what I do. I workout at a health center. Each month I step up my routine. I add more reps not weights. And I will change a few things around if the weight slows down. I also will change the way and what I eat if my weight slows down. That always seems to help. Not bragging but I have never reached a plateau yet. And I think it is because of what I do. My weight has slowed down from time to time and that is what it is doing now. I am only losing 2 pounds a week. But I figured as long as I am losing that is alright. I went from exercising for a half an hour to now exercising 3 hours. I spread it out. I exercise at home as well. I hope this helped you out. Take Care Tammy Lap RNY 362/180/145?

I weighed 362 and lost 40 lbs. by surgery date, and that brought it to 322 lbs the morning of surgery. Which was 1/7/2004. I will be a year out in 26 more days. And as of today I weigh 180 lbs. so that means I have lost a total of 182 lbs. So I have lost half my body weight already. The Doctors goal weight for me is 145, but I wont make it buy my anniversary date. I moved my goal date to Jan. 31, 2005. I am sure I can lose the last 35 lbs. by then. If not I am not going to get down on myself, because I am happy with the weight lose I have accomplished! Tammy Lap RNY 362/180/145?

I just had my Tummy Tuck done on 12/08/04. I opted to have it before goal because almost everyone that I spoke to that waited til they got to goal lost anywhere from 15-30 pounds after their tummy tuck and and are underweight now. In my tummy tuck I had 6 pounds of skin removed, but gained 15 pounds in my 2 day stay at the hospital.............darn IV fluids. These numebrs are AWESOME!!!!!!! I have lost about 103. My doctor thinks this is not enough and yelled at me on my last visit. I would like to loose about 35 more and work out about 3 nights a week. She thinks I will not lose enough. I will not go back to her because she made me feel so awful. I have gone from a size 26 to a size 16. I think this is great and am so happy with myself. My family is proud also. I feel I am just a slow looser, but my dr. has made me feel like real looser. Reading this board I feel I am just about average. Thanks for your support.
