Hey gang, Ya know that new job that I was talking about recently? The one that I loved, got to travel and was made for me? The one that I gave up my apartment, cats and life? Yeah, that one. I was fired last week. For a totally bogus reason, that just HAPPENED to show up after I asked for a 30 min accomodation in my start time ON OCCASION for consideration of my bipolar medication. Now why do you think I really got fired? If you guessed discrimination you guessed right! I am retaining an attorney tomorrow morning, but I am so disappointed. I am now incomeless, homeless and catless. I'm so sad. I had so many great plans with my new life. I was just so happy with my new llife, I loved the job and the people - it just is so unfair... I'll keep you all updated in my progress, but I appreciate your prayers and support. BTW - I am in Human Resources Management and if any of you know of a good job, I am willing to take a look at it. I am willing to relocate and travel. Thanks guys for your support, I really appreciate it God Bless... Barbie 281/191/170ish

Barbie It angers me to no end when people who know nothing about Bipolar Disorder act like that! I have watched my mother be discrimated against, avoided by so-called normal people, and treated like dirt because of her condition. She is the most creative, sensitive amazing person i know. She is a WONDERFUL woman who just happens to be bipolar, for over 30 years now. Your strength and your skills will get you thru this difficult time. Im glad you are retaining an attorney. Too many ignorant people who know nothing about Bipolar treats those who do have it like some sort of crazy person who should be ashamed and its pathetic. Best of luck to you!!! Im rooting for you all the way and hope you get a job that pays twice what those jerks did!!! Donna

Losing a job can be devastating, but it can open up new avenues too. I've been released twice when companies I worked for were sold to larger corporations. I am an accountant and the new companies both had an accountant at the home office. I was not willing to relocate when the offer was made. I took some time off to travel both times then hit the want ads and soon had a job which I enjoyed until it happened again. All this led to my working for the best company I've ever worked for in my life. Now if they just don't decide to sell for a few years I will retire a happy person. You will find a better company to work for if you keep a good attitude. Another job is around the corner. Then you can get a new apartment, a new cat and be happy. Hope it happens soon.

Are you potentiall interested in California? The company where my hubby works is looking for a HR manager. The company is called Zurn-Wilkins, and it is a division of Jacuzzi Brands. The job location is in Paso Robles, CA, which is directly in the middle between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The area is a beautiful one to live in, but is somewhat pricey, expecially for the low wages paid in comparison to what housing costs. Let me know if you want more info. I can get it to you. Jill P.S. They don't deserve you at your old job, if that is the way they are going to treat people! Get em good!!!
