Is this it for me?

I have to ask...Is this it for me? I lost 130 pounds in my first 8 months, (down to 180 from 310) which I know is great, but I can not seem to break this plateau since August. I have only lost a couple of pounds since August. I know that everyone seems to be going through a plateau around now, but I just cant help but think I may be done. How is everyone else doing with their weight loss and plateaus? Am I on track? Am I done? What can I do to change this horrible plateau? I did read the other recent posts, but I am sooo close to goal (20 pounds), I just cant stand this anymore. I just want to get into a size 10 and am teetering on a size 12 for the past 3 months. HELP!!!

I know this may sound silly at first, but think about it. If you increase your activity level you will lose some more. How can you do that without spending a lot of time and effort? I read some time back that those "nervous-type" people who always seem to be jiggling in their seats, tapping their fingers, etc actually use more energy and calories than "calm-type" people who sit still. So I play lively CD's at work and tap my foot under the desk and try to type fast in time to the music. In the car I really do a lot of seat-dancing! If I have to walk to the copy machine, I try to walk as fast as I can. I can't guarantee that these little things work, but they might!

Trish, I am right where you are at with the loss, too. I stopped losing at the beginning of October though. I have lost 133 lbs, but keep going back and forth between 173 and 175. I have kicked up the water, protein, exercise, all that stuff and am still not losing anymore. I have 15-20 more pounds to go to hit my goal (being "normal" on the BMI chart). I try to not let it get me down but it sometimes really ****** me off. I am soooo happy that I am down from 26-28 very tight to a 10 and sometimes an 8, but I want more! I wonder if, when I finally get that last 15-20 off, if I won't be happy with that and will still want more. I am just going to stick with the program and feel that, eventually, the weight will have to start coming off again. Keep your spirits up. You've come a long way, baby! Take care.......... Jill

You have to keep on trucking it will come off..increase your protein and water and exercise and it help you off the plateau.. I only wish i was in a 12 thats what frustrates me im at 195 pounds from 323. less than 20 pounds from you and in a 19 junior...alll this stupid stomach skin is killing me..all bottoms are too big in legs and waist but have to wear that size cause of skin...I do have another surgery consult next week and i cant wait. I think we are all on track since there is no real guideline what you have to do is look how much weight you have lost in a short time and remember everyone says the last 20 is the hardest just dont give up..keep up the good work!!!!

Those last 15 - 20 pounds are hard to lose so just keep up with what you are doing and it will come off ! remember it has only been 10 months and that is alot of weight to lose in 10 months you body needs to catch up ! good luck to all brenda

Hi Trish, Seems like alot of us are in the same boat. I have lost 86.5 lbs and I am 17 lbs from goal. My loss has almost come to a screeching halt. I am DETERMINED to get to my goal of 130 lbs!!! I guess we just keep on doing what we need to do...protein, water and exercise. I'm certain it will come off. I was feeling very discouraged this week and decided to go clothes shopping and ATTEMPT to get into a size 10 pair of pants. Guess what? THEY FIT!!! I was so ecstatic I almost started to cry. So you see, we may not be showing it on the scales but our bodies are still losing. Keep the faith, it will happen for us! Kim R/az
