HORRIFIC Plateau
Hey gang...
I just need some support (and testamonials) from my Jan Jumpers that this multiple months long plateau is not the end of my journey. The first two months I chalked it up to a new job, traveling, another bout of bipolar disruption, etc.
But it has been almost 12 weeks since my new job and I am settled in my hotel and travel routine. I am very picky about the foods I eat and stick to the protein and water (most of the time) requirements. I almost always follow up with fresh fruits and veggies. I do eat a few complex carbs (veggies, whole grain breads) and never eat sweets or desserts.
I am getting the extra milk and calcium recommended lately, I am exercising (not quite religiously, but moving a lot more). I feel like I'm doing everything that I am supposed to.
Anyone out there on this long of a plateau yet? Please tell me that I am not alone and lazy! Thanks for all your support - you guys are the greatest!

Barbie,
I'm right there with you! I've been on a plateau for 3 months. I just visited with my PA in Denver today concerning this. He asked if I had ever been at this weight in my life for a long period. Of course, I had. He says that this is normal for your body not to want to let go of somewhere it had been comfortable at for serveral years. He said that it would drop when your body is ready and not to worried because it will. He said no one's loss is a liner line. People might want you to think it is, but it's not. Everyone hits plateaus if only for 2 or 3 wks..but they do. He told me that I was doing everything correct and to just stick it out. He said that if I had not had the surgery and been on a regular diet I would have thrown in the towel and gone to Dairy Queen by now........he's right!
So Barbie...............I know what you're going through...
Hang in there with me! It's stuff....

Barbie, I am glad to know I am not alone! I have been on a plateau for about 2 months and it is driving me crazy!! I keep trying to make myself feel better by telling myself at least I am not gaining. I am doing everything I should and have even started exercizing religously. I hope this is not the end of losing weight for me. Good luck to you!

Hey Barbie! I think we are all here. I have been stuck since 9-7-04 basically. Hovering around the same 145 pounds. I did finally go down to 144 last week (I FINALLY GOT TO GET MY MASSAGE!!!!! I got one at 50 pounds and said I would get another at the next 25 ....didn't know it would take me 6 months) but this week have bounced up and down between it and 146. I think this is a normal thing and it is NOT the end by any means from what I have learned talking to people farther out. Just keep doing what we are supposed to as well as we can! You look great!
Hi Barbie
(((((HUGS TO ALL THE STAND STILLERS)))))))
I went through this and probly still will because I have been the same weight again for a couple weeks. I was having this problem a couple mnths back in August until Oct so I know how you all feel. I went out one weekend did some dancing and was not at home doing my ususaly routine and broke the stand still and lost 4 lbs then the next week 2 more and now I am standing still again so try shaking things up a bit. I think the person here who said that her MD said if we where this weight once the body wants to stay there makes alot sense and perhaps that is what happens and we need to just kick ass and say HEY LETS MOVE ON TO GOAL!!!!!!!!!!
I am now 168 and I would love to be 130 but I think from 6mnths on it just got so much harder so just know it will break.
I have been stuck at 150 for 5 months now!!!!!!! I'm afraid I'm done but I want to lose 30 more pounds. My family tells me it is just my body adjusting to the initial massive weight loss. My depression doesn't make things any easier. I think I need a partner to get me going when I am stalled. Someone to physically drag me out of my house. LOL.
