I had surgery 1/12/04. I had lost 106 lbs but my scales show that I have gained about 6-8 lbs back!!! I used to hold fluid and had to take a fluid pill daily, but I don't know if this is fluid or gained weight! I have begun my worst nightmare! This is going to drive me! HAS ANYONE EVER DONE THIS? This is making me so I can't think about anything else! Any ideas? Let me know as soon as possible!!! back soon!!! C-Ya! Wanda -???

More than likely its water weight. It all depends on the time of the month. That is what my Dr told. There would be a week I gain 2 to 4 lbs and lose it. Just make sure you drink your water. Hang in there. Linda

wanda Do you feel bloated? lLike your fingers, ankles, etc, how are your cloths feeling? are you eating more etc? also water will flush you out so double up and definatly call your pcp if you feel its only water gain so you can get some meds.

I too have been battling the 2-4 pound bounce for a month now. Down 104 and already starting the high maintenance. I think my body is just getting use to the intake. It is time to push the water and exersise. Damn it all. But it is worth it - just need to kick my butt in gear. Once the melting starts again I am sure I will feel much better. Ya this is my story but maybe it will work for you too. Best of luck Dawn

I sooo hear you. I was at 174 and then poof! I was back to 182!!! But I held out and am down to 174 again....which aint great since I havent lost more, but at least I am not gaining. One person on the main board told me that the last 20 pounds is the hardest and boy was she ever right!! I am down a total of 130 and have 14 more to go to reach my goal. The way I am handling this is....drinking more water, making darn sure I get in LOTS of protein, and exercising. I figure if I lose the last 14 pounds in the next few months I will be happy, but if not well maybe this is where my body is supposed to be. Goals are great, but I am not going to get all hung up on the last few pounds. My life is SOOO much better now and thats what this surgery was all about for me in the first place. Concentrate on how far you have come and keep positive!!! What a miracle this surgery has been!! You have come soo far!!! Celebrate your loss!!! And know we are all out here on this road together. Wanda, Wanda, Wanda... (and everyone else experiencing this issue, ME included!) Just go back to the basics and you will be fine - no matter what the results. Control what you can control and let the rest go. You can drink more water, add more DAILY excercise (talking to myself here, mind you...) and get off the scales (also talking to myself...) Our weight issues have controled our life forever. I have been on a 3-month plateu and decided to just sit back and relax for 2-months of it. I have had some MAJOR life upheaval with a new job, a bad bipolar cycle, and moving. The last month I have decided to get back in gear. I'm adding more exercise, more water (yuck!) and adding more fruits, veggies and protein to my diet. I hope to get the pounds moving again. I did notice, however, that during this time of my plateau, my clothes dropped a size and my body shifted the weight. I still lost inches and I can see a better definition of muscle in my arms, legs and back. I had to replace my bras and panties again too. So of course, that added to less frustration also. You're doing everything you can. Let the rest go. Good luck! God Bless Barbie 218/196/170ish
