I am not sure what made me come here tonight,I usually stick to my local board.I think curiousity is the main reason.I am trying to gauge and maybe compare my weight loss to others.I have lost 78 pounds and fluctuate by 2 pounds either way.I know I should have lost more by now,as I have been at a standstill for three months.I will be honest and admit up front that I havent exercised at all.I am not able to drink the water that is recommended and I am probably not getting in the amount of recommended protein.I am not eating alot of junk foods but probably taking in more carbs than I should be.Hmm guess I just told you exactly why I am not losing more huh?I need some help and support.Do many of you still drink protein supplements daily? What are your average meals like?I welcome any email if it is easier to answer.Thank you for your shoulders.best wishes for continued success!!

Hi Carol. I'm probably not the best person to answer you as I haven't lost as much as everyone else. I'm at 79 pounds. I do still drink a protein shake every day but I just started doing that again 2 weeks ago. I kind of got into a slump where I wasn't doing my protein , water or vitamins very religiously. I'm back on track now though. Exercise is also a killer for me. I force myself daily. I have to really keep on myself not to snack a lot because I feel that is my downfall. Anyway , you aren't alone! Hang in there.

Hang in there Carol, I had surgery Jan. 12th 2004 and have lost 106 lbs. You have to consider how overweight each person was as far as weight loss goes. What helps me in slums is to look at the things that I do each day that I didn't have the energy to do most days before surgery. Look at your glass as half full not half empty! Get back on track and relax it will happen! C-Ya! Wanda -106

Hi Carol. I had surgery on the 30th of January this year. I am 5' 1" and began my journey at 240. I currently weigh 160. I guess I am considered a slow looser. I exercised for the first four months and stoped. Don't know why, I just started making excuses. Now I accept that I am not loosing as fast because I don't exercise and I do eat more carbs than I should. I have a healthy diet, I just include too many carbs. I am ok with that I think. Anyway, you are not the only one. Please feel free to e-mail me privately if you want to talk or someone to bounce stuff off of. I am always willing to listen. I am probably repeating what has already been said, but we do all loose weight at different rates. We also started at different weights and have different amounts to lose. I have been very good about my vitamins, but I know I don't drink enough water or take in enough protein. The one thing I have done is to start each day with a protein bar. It's mainly for my schedule. I don't have time to eat until I get to work and they're easy to toss into my purse. I started at 311 and have lost 102 (currently at 209). I have days where I am really happy about that and others where I feel depressed. For the most part my days are good. I am happy I had the surgery and hope that I continue to lose. I wish you the same. Gina

Hi Carol, Like everyone else has said, we all lose at different rates and styles. I have lost 134# since surgery Jan 6th. I started at 296 and am 5'7". I have been VERY committed to the exercise and went to the Y religiously an average of 5X a week for up to 3 hours at a time. I have been taking Pilates, which I LOVE although at first it was really hard for me as my flexibility wasn't that great, but could see changes within 3 weeks and it keeps getting better, only not as fast as at first. All that being said, my Mom became very ill in July and passed away 9/14/04 and what with one thing and another I have been only averaging 2X a week at the Y since July, and the loss has REALLY slowed down. In fact, I have lost the same 4# in the last 6 weeks, about 6X over! Just think I would be way beyond my goal if I hadn't regained the same 4# 6X over!!!!!! I did not really believe the ex and water would make that much of a difference, but it is something I have proved to myself these past few weeks! Also I still do a protein drink everyday, I use the EAS Advantedge Carb Control fruit (mixed Berry) drink. The other fruit drinks make me very constipated and the shakes I have gotten so tired of, but love the mixed berry. It is hard to find though. I encourage you to try to do some formalized form of ex 3X a week, even if it is only a 30 min walk in the park with a friend, just make it fun and drink the water while you are doing it and another 8 oz an hour before or after and track your progress somewhere, see if it makes a difference to you in a month! Bet it will! Good luck Sarah
