Hi Everyone, Well I'm still bouncing up a couple of pounds and then back down again. It has been almost 8 weeks! No matter what I try I'm stuck! Please tell me I haven't broken the record for Plateau Queen. Congrats on all you Centurians, and everyone else. Got my pic in so you can see me now! Tell me your longest plateau and how you finally broke it.

Hi Catherine, No you're not the plateau queen! We are going through this especially now that we are past the six month mark! I have been stuck for over four weeks now. I keep going up three pounds, then down the same three pounds! Drink more water and walk is what I was told! I was also told to put the scale away and write down everything that you eat for a few days. It could be that you're eating the wrong foods or too much of one thing. I also found these two websites that are supposed to be plateau breakers. I haven't tried this yet, but it's worth sharing! These are diets that you only do for seven to ten days. http://www.digitalhorsewoman.com/plateaubusting.htm http://www.lowcarb.org/stillman.html Good luck Catherine! Hopefully both of us will get off this plaueau soon! Kasey

I am in the same boat. I want to try the buster thing, but I have to wait to get paid. My pay dates suck the fifth and the 20th! Anyway, this weekend I will start. I will let you all know how it goes. Tracy Lap 1/30/04 Dr. Potts

Hi Catherine, I know EXACTLY how you feel. I also have been on the same plateau. I don't know if I should just keep doing what I have been doing and wait it out or try something drastic. Afterall what we have been doing has worked very well so far and our bodies do need a chance to catch up. The other side of that is that I do not want to waste the time that we have to loose the extra weight. I am actually very happy where I am right now. The scale says 181(or 183 or...) but I really am big boned. I am easily wearing a size 10 and sometimes an 8. I would just like to loose a bit more of my belly. Unfortunately the only way that may happen is through surgery and I may not qualify for that. Still thinking about it and still deciding. Any input is helpful. Good Luck Char

I had lost 6 pounds in six weeks. Someone mentioned the Stillman diet to me so I decided to give it a try. I lost 11 pounds in 9 days, then gained back 2 pounds when I went back on Dr. Atkins. No problem, that gave me a monthly loss of 13 pounds which I appreciate. The person who mentioned it to me was 15 pounds from goal, had been on a 4 month plateau. She lost 8 pounds in 10 days. I plan to do the Dr. Stillman diet one week out of the month until I finish losing my weight. That is assuming it continues to work for me. It is very restrictive so not something you could do long term. Probably not healthy to stay on it either. You can type: Stillman diet in your search engine and get a copy of the diet if you'd like to check it out. Best of luck!

Been there as well. Iwas 180 for almost a mnth, then this week I weighed in and it said 175, awesome right, well I weighed in today because I feel thinner and usually that means more weight loss, I gained 3 pnds back so I am ready to strangle someone as well. I pray this is not the end all!!!!! You are not alone, we all seem to be doing this
