I had my surgery March 31, 2004 , I was just checking out the March Board and there is a lot of talk about the hair loss problem. I was just wondering if you Jan. people have started growing your hair back yet ??? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Judy

Yep!!! I used (and am still using!) the Nioxon products for a couple weeks and new growth started pretty quickly after. I also, however, made DARN sure I got all the protein I could. I guess you could call it somewhat of a religious experience -- I got religious about my protein. Good luck! Kathie

Have not lost any of my hair, however, I got it cut real short in or around April. I'm a slow loser and that may have something to do with it. I also have a lot of protein during the day. Kimberley 248/236/146/120 Some day I hope!

Hi Judy, I lost what I thought was A LOT of hair. When in reality - it didn't make too much of a difference in the way my hair looked or felt. I'm not losing anymore. My hair dresser said not to worry - temp hair loss is common among lots of stressful events. Only if you can pull it out in chunkfuls and see bald spots is it something to cause concern. Of course that is just his professional opinion, and not the one pulling it out of the drain! Eat protein each day & try to remember that it is only temporary. Barbie 281/198/170ish

Judy, I lost tons of hair, but it has almost completely stopped now. I have alot of new hair growth coming in. I use Comeback shampoo that is made by John Amico. It is made especially for people that have had medical procedures done and lost hair from it. I buy it at my beauty salon. I also massage my scalp daily. It is the best thing to do. Just massage it until your fingertips get warm. That is what my hairdresser suggested and it really seems to be working. Good luck! Mellisia 342/225/170 Lap RNY

I did have haor loss for a couple mnths and it has stopped, It was not as bad as I THOUGHT but it was getting very thin etc and I was worried but it has stopped, I hope that is not an indicator of my weight loss too!!!!!!

I lost a lot of hair for two weeks around my 4 month mark. Every time I brushed my hair I'd have to clean out the brush. Suddenly it stopped and I haven't lost any beyond the norm since then. I have not seen any signs of regrowth so far.
