Ahhhh! Come on!
Ok, I was 6 mos. post op as of the 26th of this month, yes, 3 days ago. I am really stressing out because for the last 4 weeks I have lost a total of 3 lbs. Yes, thats right...3lbs!!!! What is going on??? I have been a slow loser from day one. Since week 3 my max weight loss for each week has been a measly 2-3lbs. No more, no less. NOW I can only seem to take off 1 lb. a week. What a joke!!! At this rate I will never get it off. I have 37 lbs to lose to get to my goal. Is anyone else experiencing this? I am so frustrated I can't tell you. I am getting all my protein and water in. WHAT CAN I DO???? I am so afraid I am going to just give up and start eating whatever as a means to sabotage myself. I'll figure "what the hell? I'm not going to lose anyway..." HELP!!!

Hi Kim,
I didn't lose anything for 4 weeks and managed to gain 4 lbs. and then bounce up and down daily!
Hang in there, its just your body fighting for what it thinks is you best weight, but you have the tool to fight, it may just take a bit longer!

I can totally relate to your frustration. I started a lot larger than you and have lost 80 lbs in six months. I have only lost 4 lbs in the last month. I still weigh 270 lbs and figure if I get below 200 it will be a miracle. The surgeon did remind me that if I lose to 210 lbs and have plastic surgery that I'll probably end up around 170. That I can live with.
My friend who had surgery the day after me has lost a total of 79 lbs but has been on a 4 week plateau. Maybe you and I are on a semi-plateau and the loss will pick back up soon.
If I were eating sweets or eating foods that I wasn't suppose to eat I could understand but I am compliant on my exercise, food, water. My doctor told me I had three things that lead to slow weight loss (1) Over 50,, (2) diabetic, (3) BMI 61 before surgery. He said any of the three could lead to slow loss and having all three make it a given.
The good news is being a slow loser makes me feel a bit less guilty about allowing myself to ever get so big. Obviously it was a metabolic thing rather than over eating.
Hang in there, it will happen for you. You still have a year to finish losing your weight. I still have hope when I read about people still losing at
2 - 2 1/2 years.
