Hi Gang, I need some input please
Well I had my 6 mnth check up last week and I am down 90 lbs!!!! My cholestrol is 163 from 220 and my blood sugars are all normal, no more fatty liver and I am in normal BMI!!!!!! CAN I GET A YAHOOOO AMEN!!!!!!
Now here is my question. I talked with my surgeon and she says from here out the weight loss will start to taper off and I am scared because I am still 50 lbs from that and I am losing slowly already I feel. Now its been taking me about a mnth to lose 10lbs for a couple mnths now and I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this as well. Since about 4 /5 mnths out I have slowed down and I hope its not over yet but I definaltly see it takes me about a mnth now to get rid of 10 lbs.
YAHOOO AMEN!!! Well deserved! I totally can relate to what you are saying. I also have 45 more pounds to go. And yesterday when I went for my 6 month check up, the surgeon says to EAT MORE!! And EXERCISE MORE! OK--so all the way home-- 2 1/2 hour drive---I was ticked at myself for not exercising more all along. But you know what? There is nothing I can do about being a bit lazy the last 6 months. BUT I CAN and WILL from now on. We've all made a huge change already right?! He asked me how many calories I consume a day. I guessed about 1000. He told me to start writing it down a couple days a week to see the TRUE number. Well guess what? Today it was only about 500. I feel like I eat way more than that. But he says my body is kind of in a starvation mode and to eat more to make it start letting go of the fat. So I have new goals set and I think if I do it, I will keep losing for the next 3 months. My surgeon expects me to be at goal which is 137 now (before he was telling me 142) by my 9th month anniversary. SO I have 3 months to rid myself of 45 more pounds. I honestly am looking forward to the challenge that I have before me. I am not a quitter and I love challenges. This is a big one but I think the exercise will help more than anything. We can do it! Just don't get discouraged. And hey---if it's a little bit slower that's ok. We have to just keep going forward and try the best we can. We will all keep being the biggest losers we can be!
You are melting and feeling good aren't you !!! Don't be discouraged. However, I do suggest following your Dr.'s instructions. Are you getting in your protein with only 500 calories? I use fitday.com and my calories average 900-1200 per day. And honestly I find the higher the calcium & fat the better loosing week I have.
Don't be scared - try your Dr's advise. Wow goal of 137, nobody will be able to see you. lol
Best wishes,

You're doing great keep up the good work! I think I 'm loosing. In six months I've lost 82 (12 before surgery) and yesterday 2.5 more for a total of 96.5#. But I feel great! Mine concern right now is the extra skin on my tummy, upper arms, and thighs! And my breast hang to my waist! I think I'll need some tucks here and there and hope that my insurance will pay for it!
I have a protien shake every morning for breakfast and usually one for an evening snack. I'm probably consuming around 900-1100 calories a day.

248/236/151.5/135 Soon I hope!
Congrats Kelli,
I know how you feel about the slow part, I found out yesterday with my 6 mo. checkup that avacados are high in calories. I went through a gotta have it stage where they tasted great and were cheap too! No wonder I have been on a plateau for a month!
I had to muster up all the energy I could just to get down one pound. I need to excersise more dang it!
Will someone get the whip out and get me started!!!
You all are doing great, how lucky we were to join the other side.
Congrats All of Ya!
