Ok everyone, Moral Support Needed! I have been on a plateau for a couple of weeks and then I get on the scale last night and I gained 3 lbs!! I finally squirmed my way to 70 lbs. for it all to disappear in a couple of days. Oh Bother... Is there any method to this madness?? Tell me you all are going through it right now...that way I'll feel better! I would like to think that this is common with everyone, and so tell me about you and what you did to change it! I have the weight gain panic going... Help me everyone...

Catherine, I go through the same thing. If I weigh myself later during the day my weight is at least 3lbs more. Have you tried sticking to a set time each day in the mornings to weigh yourself? Try drinking more water to flush out yourself just in case you are retaining water. I hope this info helps. I know it can be very discouraging. Just remeber that 70lbs is gone forever!!!!! Lavina

Looks like your doing just fine. I had my surgery 4 days after you, and I have lost as of last week 61 lbs. I weigh myself once a week, early morning and before I eat anything. I will NOT subject myself to the fluctuations of the damn scale! This is to be expected. I haven't shown a gain yet, but I'm sure that will come. My irritation are the weeks I show no loss. Boy, that just frys my butt! Especially if I've been really trying to up my protein and water. It's just our body doing it's own thing. Hang in there, it IS coming off! Hi Catherine... Not to worry darlin! I'm a slave to the scale (I know, I know...) and I can fluctuate as many as 2 to 3 pounds in day or so. I do weigh myself each morning, before my shower, naked (there's a visual you probably didn't need! ) I don't sweat it. Even if it doesn't move in a week - I try to remember that this is a journey - not a destination for this week! Keep it up! You're doing great! Barbie 281/211/150ish

Catherine, I had surgery on 1/30/04. I have been at 179 for 3 weeks now. I am hoping, just like you, that the loss starts again. I weigh myself once a week, first thing in the morning, (also naked). I am right along with you. The only thing that helps me is thinking that a slow weight loss will give our bodies and skin time to catch up to itself so we won't be so saggy. At this point I am not drinking anything other than water (I gave up coffee as of yesterday), and I am increasing my food intake. I will let you know in about a week if it is working. Peace, Love and Zen, Tracy

Man it feels so good to read what everyone is saying and I am feeling the same things. I will not be at my goal when I go back to the Doctor on the 22 of this month. He wants me to be down to 200 lbs by then. I don't see that happening. I am still 10 lbs short. My husband has surgery on Friday and I hope that will jump start me again. He will loss more than I have lost since I had surgery in like a month and a half....

Catherine, I had my surgery 2 days before you and I am down 74 pounds. I was down 76 pounds, which put me at 202. I went on vacation and just knew I would lose the 2 pounds to get under 200. Well, came home Tuesday, weighed myself Wednesday morning and I had gained 2.5 pounds. So you are definitely not alone. Wendy

It's funny everybody is mentioning a weight gain. I too got on the scale this morning and have gained 3 lbs. I went to a support meeting last night and have decided to eliminate anything white. What I mean is Flour, Sugar, Rice that kind of stuff. Not that I was stuffing my face with it, but I guess what I'm trying to say is: Back to Basics. Protein, Water, Vitamins. Those were the things I was taught and the last week and a half I've moved away from that. I've let myself become to busy. I'm not tending to business. I will say that I have continued to exercise. Its my one saving grace. I've only lost 65 lbs since my surgery on the 28th and a total of 69 since Jan. 6th. I will not let this get me down. I will just go back to what I know works. So, I guess thats what I'm trying to tell you, go back to what you know works for you. I wish you continued success with your program.

Catherine, My six month anniversary is coming up on the 26th. I was hoping to have been down to 100lbs by then. Well, I had the same trouble. Got on the scale naked and GAINED 3.5 lbs. Trust me there is NO way that I ate enough to have gained three and a half pounds. Must be the atmosphereic pressure. LOL I am down 91 lbs and my dream of loosing one hundred at the 6 month mark will pass on the 26th, but I know that it will come off. I have had times during this process were I have my period and then don't for a couple of months and think that perhaps it is related to the weight gain. Oh well ... At least we all know that we are experiencing the same things and we are not alone on this journey. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take Care. Laurie
