have one major question for all the post -ops....how much do you eat at one sitting and if the hunger is normal? I am about 18-20 weeks post op.I have been eating more lately and seem to think i'm stretching the pouch.nono:: How can I control this? Is it possible to stretch the pouch so soon?I don't want to waste all the time, pain, work that I have put into this ... please give me some advice here!!
Connie,
Put your fears to rest... Most of us have thought that at some time or another during our journey & rest assured, you will feel that way again! Just go through the library and check out all the "stretched pouch" questions and begin to read the plethora of answers.
At this stage - we ARE eating more. When I was a month or two post-op, I was lucky to get in 500 calories a day. My body would go into starvation mode now if I only ate that much! I try to aim for about 1000 calories, but allow my body to fluctuate daily as it needs to. Some days I eat a little more, some days I eat a little less. I stick to the rules though - protein first, veggies, then a few bites of starch or whatever else is being served.
Not to worry! I'm sure you are doing great - just believe in yourself a little more!

Hi Connie,
I totally agree with Barbie!
We all have thought we were stretching out our pouch! I think we worry so much, because none of us want to go back to the way we were!
Since I have really been paying attention to my calories, I do find that there are certain foods that I can eat more of than others.
There are also days when I can eat more than others! Don't worry! As long as you are eating the correct foods and not trying to cheat you're going to be just fine!
Take care,
Kasey
Dont worry yourself. I think everyone is different just like we were before we had this surgery. Some days I eat all day and some days I dont. I am still not capable of eating what I use to eat..I ate a whole taco from taco bell and was still hungry and ate a few bites of something else. I use to eat about 4 tacos and some chips and a whole drink..you have good and bad days. happy and depressing. Email me anytime..Keep up the good work..This was a change of your life..it will work for the better. Tambra Blackmon [email protected]
