It is Deb H. here and I am doing great. I am now 5 months out and I have lost 80lbs. and I am feeling great. Clothes are falling off of me and I buy used clothing and I where them a few weeks and they are falling off, but it feels great. It has slowed down a little now and I need to work harder at it now but it is all worth it. I wish I would of done it sooner but am just really happy that I did it now. I have people asking me if I am anorexic and I laugh because I am far from that and I still like to eat just not as much, I think they are asking because the 80lbs did come off pretty fast and it really does show, but I am not and I feel great been back for 2 checkups and I am doing what I am suppose to be doing and they said to keep up the good work. I do have a few problems with some foods but then I do something different. Some days I feel like eating and some days I don't but at my checkup I asked about it and they said that I would have days like that so I am not worried. Well, I hope things are great with everyone else and anyone can email me I love emails.

Hi Deb, sounds like you are doing great. I have issues with food as well, but I'm coming to learn - we all do! I'm like you, some days I feel like I can eat, and other days I don't. Keep up the great work - Congrat's on your loss! ((hugs)) Carla

WOOOOHOOOO!!! You are doing great!! Another fellow Minnesotan...AWESOME!! Best wishes on your continued success. Isn't it strange that people think we are skinny or anorexic?? I have seen myself large for so long that I don't think I will ever see myself as skinny. I am leaning to accept the compliments and say thanks. It was hard at first though. Keep it up, you're doing a great job.

Hi Deb, Sounds like you are doing so very well with your WLS! It is natural for the loss to slow down, but it is hard when you don't see the scales moving down! I am also having people telling me tell me I am getting too thin (not so) and I think it is just that they are comparing the present you to the old you, but if they compared you to someone else with 'normal' weight/size they would know that there is still more to go! I have stopped arguing with people, as they just don't believe me when I tell them I am still 50# overweight and considered obese. So, like you, I thank them and tell them I can use all the support I can get! If they push the issue and ask if I want to lose anymore, I just tell them that my physician and my goal is to have a BMI of 25 (normal weight) and that I have a little ways to go yet, and just keep it vague. I just had a friend give me an old pair of her jeans that were 14's and they fit! Shocked me! My medium scrub tops and large scrub pants are too big. I have been shopping a lot at a consignment shop where I can get stuff for just a few dollars while I am still changing sizes so often. It sure beats buying stuff for full price and only being able to wear it a few times! Keep on being a good loser! Sarah

First, my name is JoAnn. I too had the surgery on January 19th. In my beginning months it was hard on me as my system was not allowing me to keep down the foods I was eating. So you know where I was most of the time. It was a bummer at first. But I am now 5 months and around 3 1/2 to 4 months after the surgery my system starting digesting the food. Except I still have some problems with noodles, rice and sometimes potatos, Pork chops no mattewr how thin I get them they will noyt digest for me. Other than that I am able to eat most foods now. I weighed 419 before I decided to have the surgery. I lost 21 1/2 pounds 2 weeks before the surgery. I now weigh 303. I total that at 116 pounds. I was at a 3 week stand still not losing weight and I was told that is normal. I am happy with waht I have lost and I no longer have to take my diabetes or B/P meds. I am only taking Celexa for depression and talwin every now and then for my knee pain. I do take a Multiviatmin with iron,. 1500 MG of calcium, B-Complex every day and 1000 Mg B-12 shot once a month. I am so happy to be off my meds. I have 175 pounds to go to get down to be 130 Pounds. But I will see what I look like at 150 pounds. I think I will have to go down to 130 pounds as I am small bone and I am only 5 foot. I wish you much sucess as you comtinue to lose the weight and I also would love to be your new friend and get emails from you. My email addresss is [email protected] I look forward to hearing from you.Take care and God Bless you. Sincerly, JoAnn
