More Food...AAACK!
Hey January Jumpers!
I would like to hear your plans for winning the craving war. I've been so good - until this last week or so. I've been craving all the wrong foods again - CARBS!!! I have slacked a bit on the exercise - so I got right after myself for that - but the food cravings continue. I'm eating about 6 to 7 ounces at a time and still stick to protein and veggies for the main part with a few bites of starches.
But I notice that I want chips, deserts (which I DON'T eat except on rare occasion), diet coke (again only RARE occasion), SF ice cream, and all the other stuff that got me here in the first place!
How are you all coping? I want to nip this in the bud and am looking for ideas. Let's hear them! Thanks y'all!

I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I also am having craving. I just try to make wiser choices than before. Sweets still make me sick so thats not much of a problem. I went away for weekend and cheated quite abit, but now that I'm home the junk food is not around. I am afraid to get back into old habbits. Sorry if I am not making much since.
I am having the same cravings. Especially chips. The way I do it is like this. I buy lower fat chips, or baked even the fat free Pringles once in a while just to calm my cravings! And I have a few here and there. But I hear you when you say that this is why you got there in the first place! It scares me! I will exercise a little more after a day of having something like that though. I try anyway. I have ice cream, there are these ice cream bars I think by Blue Bunny called Health Smart. They are vanilla and fudge. I have been having them right along, and I am still losing weight. I don't want to deprive myself of the things I still want, I jus****ch how much I eat (well, we have to!). And I think going from eating a huge bag of Doritos a day to eating maybe a handful every couple of weeks is fantastic! (Yes, I used to do that...) I thought I would be craving fast food like McDonalds and stuff. I would eat that stuff at least once a day too. Now I don't even want it anymore. My body is saying THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Good luck!!!

I only eat like 2 to 3 ozs at a time................ I just make the right food choices........... when I get a sweet tooth I eat fruit............ Blueberries, cherries, raspberries, bannanas, apricots! I do not eat carbs really........ I just stay away from them........... You got to remind yourself where you were just a few months ago......... and not want to head back in that direction......... You can do it!
The sweets have been killing me this week. So I turned to fruit with light cool whip. Also I make this stuff.
1 box s/f jello - melted with 1/4 cup ho****er
12 oz. light yogurt
1 tub light cool whip
blend very well and let set in fridge. Yummy and it goes a long way.
When I get the crunchies - I have sunflower seeds and nuts. Or turkey jerky has been real good for a salt fix.
My meals have been 4-5 oz. 4 on tough meals and 5 on soft meals.
I usually eat 5 times per day.

Well, here is what I've been thinking and now that we are all fighting the same battle.. this is what they are talking about the honeymoon being over.. and here is where we will have to start making the right choices. So far, I've been doing not too badly. If you get a craving.. go get something to drink.. (no no.. not a margarita ) water or something good for you.. that usually slows my cravings down.. tell yourself that you can have that ???? right after you have the protein filled snack that you should have.. by that time you will be ok again. (hopefully) Or.. I've been getting those ritz chips low fat.. 140 calories in 15.. then I take and put 7 in a zip lock. That is my allowance.. I can spend it the way I want.. but it is all.. eat with a meal.. or by itself.. but that is the starch cheat for the day. Then for my sweet tooth.. I LOVE dark chocolate kisses.. I can have one of those each day.. . I usually love it at night with a little peanut butter. I think we can find "work arounds" for those cravings.. and I do believe that we can't deprive ourselves of everything we love. So, I'm trying to pick and choose what it will be that I LOVE and what I can do without. God Bless all of us on this battlefield.

Thanks y'all!
You have suggested some great ideas. I want to be under 200 lbs by my 6-month anniversary (July 21), so I want to keep my food in control, up my water and remain consistent with exercise.
I bought the sunflower seeds - but only like them on salads and such. As for the jello/yogurt treat - I'm going to try that right away!
Take care all! Thanks again!

I have lost 91 pds since Jan ,I went from 24 at 245 pds to 8/10 and 154 pds.I eat carbs very moderately, but I do eat fatfree popcorn, fatfree pretzels,,whenever I get cravings.I dont eat potatoes, fried foods, sugar, butter, rice, pasta or sweets.I exercise and take my supplements. The best thing to do is eat protein first then veggies ,alot of salads, protein bars, high protein foods fill you up,once you have exercised, ate protein and you still want a few carbs I say go for it.Calorie intake is how we lose weight, not just carbs, total daily calories are more important. You should put protein first, but some carbs are good for you.The glycemix index can tell you about good carbs, and weigh****chers has info on them too. They also keep your serotonin levels from dropping keeping you from feeling depressed.i had this surgery to learn to treat my body better and eat healthy for life, not do atkins forever.I have read a healthy diet includes all food groups in moderation, just small portions, dont over eat, dont eat when your not hungry and stay active.Good luck
