ARE YOU EXERCISING AT ALL?????
I have recently started riding my bike to work! I love it! I was afraid at first because, although I've lost 66 pounds, I'm still a big girl and I didn't want to present myself on a bicycle in broad daylight as a specticle for all to see and make fun of. But what I have found is that noone cares about the thic**** riding her bike to work...they're all just grumpy because they're going to work too!!
Anyway.....other than riding my bike...I haven't engaged in a regular exercise routine. Its funny how much of a difference 66 pounds makes on a bike ride. It makes me curious about all that other exercise I simply hated.....maybe it's easier now too...and I won't hate it so much?
cool.
take care!

Celines, I like the structure od a gym... the employees help with giving me ideas with how to do toning ...I hate flabby skin! So every other day I walk on the bike trail ... 3 miles... and on the alternate days I go to ladies Super fitness and do upper and lower toning excersises with the machines... I plan to work up to the low impact aerobic classes. and eventually the weight. at home I have the palettes bands.. and when i can't get to gym or walk... I do excercise wsith them...
good luck... hope you find something that works for you!

Good morning... I walk 30 minutes a day at a minimum on the treadmill, either at home or at the gym next door to my office. I'm also working with a trainer two days a week, I swear he's a devil in disguise, loves to hurt me. I'm up at 4:45 every day, at the gym or walking by 5:30 am and at work by 7:00. Can't believe the energy I have now.
I think you're doing great!! Keep it up.
Hugs...

About a month ago I went back to Curves.I go 4-5 days a week. I like it beacuse I can get in and out in 45 minutes. I also have an exercise bike and thigh master that I use 1-2 times a week. I'm not loosing any faster, but I feel better and have much more energy. It also helps me sleep better at night. I can see the difference in my clothes too. I'm 4 months out this Friday the May 28th and have only lost 53 lbs. I think it's to slow, but there's nothing I can do. I really don't care if I loose slow as long as it doesn't stop at 6 months and I never loose another pound. Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. No use in worring now. Barb
Actually I am bad. I walk 1.5 miles per day only on nice days. So here in Mass I haven't been doing very well. Other than that my housework has gotten more active and not so stressful. I can now carry my own baskets of laundry and bend to pick up the kids toys and not feel like I am gonna fall over. I figure every little bit counts at this point. It is getting better and easier every week.
I'm taking a toning class 2 days a week, that incorporates weights and aerobics. Three days a week I go to the gym and walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes, do the eliptical machine for 25 minutes and then do weights (I only do the weights if I go after work, as sometimes I go during my lunch hour). I work at a University so the gym is no cost to me. My four month anniversary was 5/21 and I'm down 79.5 lbs. (12 before surgery). I only have 33.5 more pounds to get to my goal! I'm hoping to be down to 150 lbs. by 7/1 as I'll be in Florida on vacation.
I feel great, but still have a hard time seeing myself as thinner. When I look at myself in the mirror I still see the fat me!

exercise was never a word in my vocabulary but it is one i have finally learned! besides walking 2 miles a day i am part of a strength training class 2 days per week (1 hour each session) and a water aerobic class 2 days per week (1 hour per session). it sure has improved my attitude! if i miss class or my walk - i just do not feel as good!
as far as adding something to your program...as long as you are maintaining and doing well-stick with something you will do! since you hate gyms i would not even attempt it. maybe add some weights (arm and/or leg)...any exercise is better than no exercise!!
congrats to us all for sticking to it - whatever the exercise program is! we are great and wonderful people!
to us!!
Before I started dieting four months prior to surgery I could hardly walk 2 minutes without thinking my legs were going to give out under the weight.
My exercise routine now is the dreaded treadmill Mon-Wed-Fri for 30 minutes while reading my book which makes it tolerable. Tues-Thur I do weights for 30-40 minutes. Weights have always been my favorite thing to do in the gym. There is always a way to keep increasing repetitions or amount of weight. This week I started using the cross country machine, but it kicked my butt in 2 minutes flat so that is a new challenge.
Do I love exercise? No way but I love the way it makes me feel the rest of the day. Physically & mentally it is a positive thing for me.
Best of luck to you.
