Anyone else on plateau
Hi Dawn!
I know it's hard not to worry about the scale...because it's been such a visual guide these last four amazing months! It's been telling us things we have dreamed of (at least I have been dreaming of!).
Anyway....my surgeon told me that if he thought his patients would do it, that he would suggest hiding the scale for a year after the surgery. He says it is simply not an accurate reflection of how our bodies are adjusting and redistributing and so forth.
Of course, you absolutely can't take the scale away from someong who is FINALLY losing the weight they have been attempting to be rid of for so long!!
Be encouraged! The scale isn't the only measure of our weight loss. It's just so stinking fun to see it go down!
Press on, Sister!

well ive been on the plateau for nearly a month the scale barely moves but in the past couple of days the pounds have started coming off again....of coarse so is the hair...I wanna scream alot now cause it seems so slow but I guess its normal...keep the faith we all know we are NOT gonna fail and its just the frigging fear in us...dont give up
WOW! isn't it nice to see we are not alone?! i am finding myself @ the end of my 3 1/2 week "dry spell". was trying to tip below the 2's for what seemed like FOREVER, but now i am done 2 pounds this morning - putting me @ a grand total of 80 pounds lost! frustrating it is BUT it will end...keep up with all the goods: water, protein and etc., thumbsup to us all!! wahoo!!
I wasn't on a plateau but I had some strange things going on with my weight last month. I'd lose -0-, the next week -1, the next week -5 lb loss, next week -0-. Overall I think I lost 6 lbs for the month. I'm hoping that was just a semi-plateau and the weight loss will pick up again this month.
Too bad we don't have a crystal ball to see ourselves in 12-18 months all slim and trim (with flabby skin). Then we could quit worrying about losing weight and start worrying about saving money for plastic surgery. I'm so optimistic....not.
How many carbs are you eating a day? If you haven't been watching them maybe you could cut below 20 grams of carbs a day and break the plateau? I am always preaching carbs because they have such a bad effect on my body. I feel like a different person when I stay under 20. You are young enough that they probably don't bother you.
Hope you kick that plateau soon!
Wow.. here we are all together.. this is wonderful to at least know that we are not alone. I didn 't see the scale move for a MONTH.. nothing... in fact it would go up a couple of lbs.. then come down and I'd think.. wow.. got it going again.. and then stop. YEACH... but it is moving now again. I'm so grateful. it is hard not seeing the scale move for so long.. even though I knew I was still losing inches.. it isn't as gratifying as seeing that scale moving again.. I am 1/2 lbs away from being in the 100s. and 13 lbs away from the century club. I want to be there by the end of this month.. so I'm going to have to work hard at it. I'd like to lose 50 more lbs.. but I know those will be hard fought for. So, we just need to all keep going .. drink MORE WATER, eat more protein and EXERCISE.. all the things we didn't do before this surgery. We can do it.. I can dream it.. I can do it. Keep posting, Dawn.. it is good to know we are all in this together. Jan
