Every day I wake up thankful for the gift of this surgery. We are all so lucky to have this chance to get back our health and our lives. Best wishes to all on their journey!

I am feeling greatful that I was blessed with this surgery. I've lost 62 lbs since surgery 1/20/04, add on the pre-op loss for a total of 120 lbs. My blessings include not having any complications since surgery, being able to eat anything I want except grits and possibly sugar (haven't tried it). I've gone from 5 prescription pills a day to 1 a day. I could hardly stand when I started this journey, now I work out 30-40 min 5 days a week at the gym. Last month I averaged 611 calories a day. No shakes or bars, all food. Still working on reaching 60 grams of protein a day but I am close now. Can you believe we use to obsess about eating too much, now we have to try to get in ENOUGH food/protein. Life is grand post-op. I feel like I have my life back. I no longer exist, I can now live life again. Watch out world when I finish losing my weight. Sounds like we are all doing well. Best wishes to all of you for your continued success.

Hello to all! Things are going great for me. At 3 1/2 months, I have lost 71 pounds, but I think that at least 20 of that is my hair!! Seriously, I know that the hair will grow back because when I did optifast several years ago, I lost a lot then (both weight and hair) and it all came back (both weight and hair) I would definitely recommend this surgery now, but no way would I recommend it for the first 1 1/2 months. I am regularlay exerising at Curves 3 times a week and am also walking. Down in size from 28w jeans to 18W and shirts from 3X to 1X or even some XL. Life is truly good. Love you all!!!!! Jill

I'M LOVING IT, WOOOOHOOOO, at minus 70 lbs. I can't ask for more. I'm not eating that much but I try to eat as healthy as possible. My hair is falling like crazy, that's a little sacary. I'm walking 4 times a week for 30 minutes, but is getting a little boring so I'm planing to do 2 days of aerobics and 2 of walking.

I was 4 mos. post op on May 5th. Have lost 98 lbs and feeling great. Cannot eat eggs of any kind, chicken and turkey are not my friends but I have no problem with beef, figures. I eat cottage cheese, l/f mozarella cheese sticks, quesadillas, lots of salad with cheese. I do not eat anything with sugar because I am afraid that I will not dump and become addicted to the sugar, past failures. Try to get my protein in first, losing my hair, but I have lots of hair, mostly losing it in the front of my head, so I keep it short and is easier to curl and hide the thinning spots. Only take 1 Celebrex daily instead of 2 pre-op, no hormones at all, was taking them before surgery. When I think I want something crunchy, I eat Special K cereal without milk, satisfies that desire and is low cal. Am more active and feel better than I have in 20 years, not on any exercise program as my arthritis in my knees is a problem, but am more active, have been going with hubby sailing. I AM LOVING LIFE. Yes I am shouting it!! Because it is very true!!! I am Happy, happy, happy. So glad I had WLS!!!

Hi everyone. It's great to see everyone is doing so well. I had my surgery on Jan. 5th. As of today I am down 83 lbs. My weight hasn't changed for about three weeks. Probably because some days I eat more then I should. I go to curves 4 times a week and swim at least 4 mornings a week. I need to get walking a bit more. How am I doing? Most days I'm HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY. This was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Connie
