Geeesh. I can't believe that it will be 4 months tomorrow! I know I don't exercise enough ... that has to change. My days are so long at work and I work 6 days a week that the idea of exercise is .... anyway ... I have lost about 55 lbs and can eat most anything. I still can't drink milk but can have milk byproducts, go figure. I get at least 3 protein shakes in a day and struggle to get 800 calories in. I know I need to get more water in. I am doing great! I survived a leak............. lost about 65-70lbs and I feel great.............. Had my hair dresser come over and do my hair......... I feel like a million bucks today! Hair loss some........ I am taking prenatel vits a few times a week for that ............ My hair dresser told me to message you scalp to help stimulate the blood flow for prevention of hair loss! Have a great day!

I'm doing okay. I'm down 51 lbs and have been here for three weeks. I wish I could find a way to kickstart the loss again but I know it'll pick up eventually. I have about 69 more to go. I can eat pretty much anything although I think I'm starting to "develop" dumping. I was able to have sugar okay up to a month or so ago, but now if I have some I get shaky, sweaty and light-headed. I'll take that as a good thing so I don't drive myself nutty over not having sugar anymore! I'm keeping up pretty well with my protein but I know I'm not exercising enough, I really need to step that up. I've been using the Walk At Home tapes. My hair is falling out by the handful and started a little over a month ago, but thankfully I had thick hair to begin with and it's only now starting to become noticeable. Overall I'd say I'm loving it. I don't miss eating huge amounts and am thankful that I can eat pretty much anything my family does. Hads 258/207/148

I'll be four months post-op on the 21st. All in all I'm doing great! Had surgery 1/21/04 and have lost 61.5 lbs. plus the 12 before, so 73.5 lbs. isn't bad! I truly feel soooo much better and have so much more energy! I have about 39.5 more pounds to go to get to my goal. I have not lost any hair, but about two weeks ago, got it cut real real short! Off my liptor and no longer a diabetic! I'm excerising at least 4 times a week and swimming 1-2 times a week. I can eat tuna, chicken, ham, turkey, but can't tolerate cube steak, it made me sick! I can eat eggs, but I still can't tolerate bread. Have added some veggies and fruit. Glad to hear that everybody is doing well, keep up the good work! And congratulations to you all on your success and best of luck in the rest of your journey. Kimberley 248/236/174.5/135 - hopefully by July

Hi Everyone, I was 4 months out yesterday. I finally hit the elusive 190's. I was 196 yesterday. So that is 67# since surgery and 76# since last May when I started the journey. I can eat just about anything including all meats. I try to eat protein first. I don't take any protein supplements or shakes. The only thing I haven't tried is a bagel and don't think I will...too bready. Some days I eat more, some days I eat less. I *try* to take my vitamins....YUCK.....everyday?? Yesterday I went out and pampered myself and got my hair colored, highlighted and cut. So far the hair loss is pretty minimal. A couple brush fulls every morning but have always lost some everyday even preop. I sure admire all of you that are exercising everyday. That is one area that I really need some work on. By the time I get home from work I am soooo pooped. Just wanna relax. The treadmill calls my name and I ignore it. Best wishes to you all on your continued successes!!!

My four month anniversary was two days ago and I'm down 89 pounds since surgery (224 from 313). I'm eating pretty much whatever I want, but focusing on good stuff - chicken, steamed vegetables, turkey jerky, nuts, etc. Sometimes I break out and have "bad" food, but I do it in the right way (I only eat the toppings on pizza, for example), and I weigh everything I eat. I don't really worry about protein, except to focus on eating protein first (doctor's orders). Exercise? I exercise 1-2 hours a day - I play volleyball three or four times a week, I work out on my elliptical for an hour a day, and I just started walking 5-10K every Saturday morning. I keep intending to do resistance training, but I'm usually too tired after an hour on the elliptical. So things are going very well. I'm down from a 3-4x shirt size to a 2x, and from size 28 pants to size 18-20. I'm really starting to love life and all that it has to offer. This surgery is such a wonderful tool! Frances

Me too, Me too I've lost 60 lbs, my anniversary date is the 22nd, I feel great! I have tried eating everything, and refined sugar just in the last week. It' didn't do anything to me! But I too am focusing on more fruits and veggies, they taste better than they used to. And now I can eat eggs finally, to where before they tasted horrible. I love Splenda, I can't tell the difference! I have eaten pasta, and last night I had my first glass of wine, other than hitting my quickly I didn't have a thing happen (I even had a second glass). But it does effect you quickly though! I have learned that when I crave something, I eat it, and it goes away. I guess I'm saying that my body is finally working with me instead of against me. So when it asks for something I give it, in moderation of course! And when I hit a plateau, I stir it up but eating out of the ordinary stuff, and it works. The only thing I haven't tried is carbination, has anyone tried it yet? I do drink coffee, just a cup every couple of days or so with coffeemate creamers in it, they don't bother me. We are doing sooooo great aren't we? Did you ever think it would be so good? me either!
