Hello Everyone- I was wondering what your intake was at this point. I am eating 8-900 calories per day, 80-100 gms protein, 30-40 gms of carbs, I have been on the treadmill EVERY day for 30 minutes. All of this is of course logged on fitday. I have been on a plateau for 2 weeks now and it's driving me crazy!!!!! I have lost 44.5 lbs and was really hoping to hit 50 by the 4 month mark.....doesn't look like it's happening!! Any input is appreciated! Lori 222/177.5/122? laprny 1-6-04 100 cm distal

Hi... I had my surgery the day before you and also have lost 45 pounds, along with the 31 I lost waiting for surgery. Some days i feel like I can eat too much, and others very little.

I know how to get over ur plateau, I did it myself, at 3mnts I had a 2 wk plateau that almost made me cry. U need to change ur routine for working out,ur body starts to remember its dailey routine, so when I was doing 30 minutes of cardio on the tread mill I changed it to. 10 min cardio. then 10minutes lifting and back and forth back and forth or I would change from bike to tread back and forth..U have to mix it up for about a week to jump start ur metabolism again, U might want to try a little more calories too. This is all advise from my trainer. It really helped..good luck u will do it

I'm afraid I'm not a counter. I don't count anything. I just eat. I do try to eat my proteins first and that's about it. I've had my share of plateaus and they move with a little patience. Best wishes to you.

I can sympathize with you because I am going through the same thing. My surgery was 1/20/04. I eat between 500-800 calories (average 650), aim for 60 gms of protein and try to keep my carbs below 20 gms, exericse 3 days a week on treadmill 30 min and 2 days a week on weight machines 30 minutes. I also do an exercise on tape at home some nights "Walking off the pounds" or something similar. Post op weight loss 51 lbs, pre-op loss 58 lbs. I've had two weeks in the last six weeks that I lost -0- lbs. Two weeks ago I lost -0- lb and last week 1 lb. I think we are just going to have to be patient but it's hard. I've read any kind of change is good when the loss stops. Maybe you could take three 15 minute walks a day (temporary change) instead of the 30 minute and cut your carbs back to 20 gms for the next week. Think about any changes you can make in your routine. We have gotten through all the insurance paperwork, surgery, learning to eat again, we can get through this too. We'll just have to hang tight. Best of luck!

Lori, Looks like you are doing a great job with your weight loss. If you could cut your carbs down to 10-20 gms per day and up your water, you might get past your slowdown. I've recently cut my carbs down to 10 gm/day and am losing weight faster than ever. It's been very motivating.
