Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi. First an update: I had my second Endoscopy on March 29. The surgeon found the ulcer had healed. He told me I have a very small pouch which is probably why I had frequent vomiting. I went back to my 4 wk post op diet which is soft solids because my stomach cannot handle the quantity of food we can eat at 6-12 weeks. I am getting really bored with eating. My stomach will tolerate yogurt, milk, fat free turkey, cheese, and some of the protein bars. Is anyone else experiencing a sensative stomach since surgery or one that is very small and cannot hold the amount of food you are allowed to eat? When I try to eat 3 meals a day, I have ended up getting sick so I am back to eating 3 small meals with 2-3 snacks just so I can get the protein in. It's frustrating!! Thanks.

Hi Michele, Your experience is similar to mine. At about 6 weeks out I had a 100% blockage. Went back to the hospital for three days and had a feeding tube put into my unused stomach. Had tube for about one month. Tube was removed two weeks ago and back on soft food only. Today I starded vomiting again. I need another endoscopy, hopefully next week. I also am bored with eating only yogurt, cottage cheese and jello. I have been drinking at least 64 ounces of water and having two isopure protien drinks evey day. I have loss 57 pounds since January surgery, what a hard way to get healthy. Hope it gets better for you soon. Bob

Hi Michele I am so bored with food, it is funny that something that used to bring me such enjoyment has become a chore. I find I eat the same things every day, if I don't I never know how my pouch will tolerate things. Carolyn

Sorry you are having such a hard time with your pouch. Hopefully it will start cooperating soon with you. Do your doctor plan to do anything to fix the problem...or is it something that will just take time? Well I'm the complete opposite. I can eat just about anything...some things end up not sitting well like some juices (which I shouldn't be drinking anyhow). But really...I'm able to eat just about anything...sometimes I wish I wasn't able to tolerate so many different types of food....especially sugar. The only thing I do experience is my pouch doesn't dump food fast...so I have to wait something 4-5 hours before I can eat anything again. So its hard for me to get in all the meals I need in a day....so I try to rely on protein drinks more heavily. Jaye
