I am 12 weeks out and am down 46 pounds. However if I eat meat I get a lot of acid. Is this normal? I really can't eat chicken, I still try though. Tuna is ok and I am trying to like fish. Any suggestions?

I get the same thing. It helps if you take really tiny bites and chew to a pulp. Baby spoons and shrimp forks help to make your bites really small. Lonnie

I had problems with acid about an hour after I ate. My surgeon put me on Protonix and I haven't had any problems since.

You meat may be too dry or you are not chewing good enough. Some people can't tolerate the dry meats. Try slowing down and chew chew chew. Also I have to take a daily zantac for at least a year. Were you prescribed anything? Best of wishes. Dawn -59

My Dr. has us take Pepcid AC chewable 2 x day for the first 6 weeks then down to 1 x day. Also we are not supposed to eat red meat till 6 months out (I have no problem with ground hamburger though)... I ran across a really good, easy chicken recipe somewhere on this site: 1 c. picante sauce (Salsa) 1 envelope Splenda 1 tsp. mustard Spread over chicken breasts & bake till done (40 mins in my oven) Very moist & delicious!
