Hunger is not a bad thing!

I have felt hunger right from day one out of surgery. I don't worry about true physical hunger because it is my body telling me it needs fuel. I am on the watch for head hunger. I have lost 45# at about 9 weeks out. I have not been sick one day since surgery and I have adjusted to all foods easily, no sugar or high carbs, of course. I am a little disappointed that I have not lost more, but I am feeling good and know I have the rest of my life to eat healthy to lose the rest. Exercise still is hard on my knees so I go to water aerobics three times a week. I eat three small meals a day and one or two snacks, and I have one protein drink, Whey Fruity, tropical fruit flavor. it is like koolaid and it is the best protein drink for me so far. I think i am doing everything right but I am not sure?

It sounds like you're doing great! Congrats on the weight loss. I am only eating two meals a day and not getting in any protein drinks at this point. I do usually have a protein bar for lunch. I feel sick a lot and have been throwing up. I am not quite sure what it is I am doing wrong (eating to much, eating to fast, etc...), but I have been in contact with my doctor's office.

Well I think that you are doing great! You have lost 45lbs so far and are going to keep on losing! I am farther out then you and only a few punds ahead of you. The average person after the surgery loses 15-30lbs a month........then later at about 6 months 7-15lbs. When I feel hungry I eat peanuts or sunflower seeds.......they have lots of protein.
