Shelly- My surgeon told me if you lose slowly you are more likely to keep the weight off. It is a gradual loss and the body is losing fat. I too thought I should've been losing faster but the doctor is happy. They told me the key is exercise!! Keep the happy attitude and things will work out just fine. -Chele

I'll be 10 weeks out on Tuesday and have lost about 41 lbs so I'm a slow loser too. But that's okay. I have NEVER ever lost that much on any diet and kept it off. I'm hoping if I lose a little slower, I won't have so much baggy skin. Course, I already have some. I think you're doing great. Best wishes on your continued success! It will come off.

Glad I am not alone. I thought I would burst into tears this week. I am 8 weeks out today and have lost 46 lbs and its been 2 or 3 lbs these last couple weeks and I started to panice, My biggest fear like many is that I will be the only one in the world this surgery has failed for, I thank you that I know I am losing ok and I feel a little better now

Hi Shelly! I will also be 8 weeks on Tuesday, and I have lost 34 lbs. I think it is great and from the charts I have looked at, we are doing well. Think positive! Lark

Your not a slow loser! I'm at week 9 and have lost 40 lbs. We have stingy bodies, they want to hold onto the fat but they'll give it up. This pace of weight loss is why I always failed in other attempts. I didn't lose anything for 2 1/2 weeks during my first month post-op and I was doing everything "right". Then one day 6 lbs. had melted away. Also, if your excercising you have to keep in mind muscle weighs more than fat, so pay attention to how your clothing fits or measure yourself and total inches. Your doing great! Keep up the good work.

You are right on track! They say that you start losing about 15-30lbs a month at first and then you go down to about 7-15lbs. I had my surgery one Jan 6th and I am down 50lbs so far. You are doing great

I understand exactly what you mean. I am nine weeks today with a total loss of 36 lbs. The scary part is I did not lose any this week and fear I have hit my first plateau. I'd lost 58 lbs before surgery (total 94 lbs) and hadn't hit a plateau up to this point. I never had the big losses others have after wls. My first week I only lost 5 LBS. That was really disappointing. Having said that when have any of us lost this much weight in a couple of months? If I'm not losing, I'd be gaining so maybe we can add those lbs we would have gained in the last two months. I think this surgery is going to be a lesson in patience for me. The Lord keep****ting me with that one, and I can't seem to learn it. Pat 410/316/?

Alas, I am not alone!! I had high dreams of loosing 20 pounds a month (or more) And while I am 2 1/2 months out Ive lost 45 pounds. As with everyone else, I know that w/out this surgery I would be nowhere near that kind of a wieghtloss. And, my Dr. too has said hed rather see me loose slowly and steadily. ALthough for me, I loose 5 pounds at a time..seems I never see the scale inbetween. Ive been stuck at 210 for atleast 2 weeks now...but I know that in a few days I will see another loss. SO, we all just gotta hang in there and keep the faith that we will succeed!!!! God Bless, Roxanne
