Medical Id Bracelet
Hi Kim!!
I have one and it's really nice however, I read from a paramedic we should get the plain metal kind as ER personnel wouldnt look twice at the pretty ones. They look like jewerly not medical ID bracelets.
I have my name, gastric bypass, no ng tube w/o endoscope on the front
on the back I have my physicians name and phone number.
Hope this helps
Jacque
I second Lauren's Hope for the bracelets -- very nice!
I also wondered the same thing about pretty bracelets getting looked over and asked my husband about it (he used to be a paramedic). He said if you do get one that looks like a regular bracelet to wear it on your left wrist since that's the one they usually check for a pulse. He said either way the first thing they have to do is check for a bracelet (on either wrist) or a necklace. (He also mentioned that when they're testing and forget to list a check for medical tags as the first thing on the written exam then they won't pass.) The one I got from Lauren's Hope has the very obvious red medallion on the front of the tag, so there's definitely no mistaking what it is!
